four more days to go
Jan. 7th, 2008 11:22 pmI'm half-watching The Daily Show just to, you know, see. Good times, good times. Slightly awkward times, also. You can tell the writers didn't write this. Heh.
I realized I didn't mention TAR in my post last night, which tells you how much I had to say about it. I did think that cabbie challenge was pretty cool, though.
Speaking of TAR, kind of, this season for Everest: Beyond the Limit (which is an awesome show if you're looking for TV time to fill) ran a sub-series called After the Climb, which consisted of our good friend Phil Keoghan interviewing the climbers in front of a roaring fire. It's amusing to get to see Phil in an extended conversation rather than just snippets. It's especially amusing to see his shocked reactions to a lot of what the climbers go through. It's my dream that, outdoorsman that he is, he'll get the Everest bug and actually be a climber on the next season of Everest. That would rock.
Speaking of things that would rock, apparently Bradley Whitford might be on Broadway. Um. OH MY GOD. I would, you know, plotz, and other Yiddish-sounding things. Have to keep a close eye on that. Holy crap.
Hey, Serial Drama is starting up a message board, so I think we LJ types should go over there and move in. What say you?
Brilliant essay by Damon Lindelof on why he writes. Fans must read!
I love this new Threadless tee, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth.
ALA has a Tim Gunn READ poster. So cute!
Two ILNY links, mostly courtesy of
juliedarling:
Buddha gets into fistfight with Tailor Made on New Year's Eve.
Sister Patterson was banging Whiteboy. (OMGWTFBBQ.)
Questions for my f-list:
Is there a show or a band or something called "Meg & Dia?" Someone made "Meg & Dia" icons so now I need to know what that's all about.
Do people have recommendations for an online high-yield savings account? I've seen ING in a couple places; any other recs?
Should I just give in and watch the new piloty BSG promo already? Even though I'm busy trying to steel myself for shipper misery this upcoming season? (By the way, Aaron Douglas says if you're reading into that Last Supper photo, you're stupid.) No, actually, he doesn't say that at all, but he does point out that the actors were mostly fooling around and sitting wherever they wanted.
Look at this awesome Enchanted icon that
miggy made! Head on over to
miconics for more.
