make it work
I admit, I was surprised, but pleased. I thought Rami had it in the bag, especially since his collection was so "wearable" in the eyes of the judges. It's interesting that they decided to go with someone so fashion "forward," ahem. Plus, I suspect a big part of their decision was the fact that Christian needed the money the most. I mean, Rami already has a successful line, and Christian has nothing. So the money will be put to good use. I was kind of relieved Christian won just because I was afraid to see how CRUSHED he would be if he lost, poor little guy.
I liked all three collections, but wasn't madly in love with any of them. Jillian's pieces were nice but some of them I felt like I could buy them at Forever 21. Rami's style is not generally my own, but those evening gowns were spectacular. I think his white lace dress was my favorite piece of the night. Christian's was not wearable at all and that first outfit was too Wicked Witch of the West, but I liked that I could feel his "vision."
And can we talk about how one of Jillian's models was totally Jaslene from ANTM, and they kept making sure to cut away from her face? Hilarious.
My favorite part was Tim's group hug. AWWWW. I will miss him until he is back on my TV.
So, good ending, I thought. Yay.
Again with the underwhelming song choices. And I just realized I forgot to vote! Ooops. I don't know that anyone really blew me away tonight, but I enjoyed Carly and Syesha a lot even though I questioned their song choices. I wanted to like Brooke's Benetar more than I did. Amanda was fun but the Joan Jett was just so predictable. I agree with Simon that Kristy Lee is quite forgettable, in fact when she first popped up on screen I was like who the heck is that? I adore Kady but it's probably time for her to go. And wow, what was everyone smoking tonight, and can I have some?
By the way, Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" is the #4 song on iTunes right now, which is pretty interesting. Oh, Idol. The power you wield.
Not much to say about ANTM. Tyra is not half the makeover queen she thinks she is. I seriously question some of those choices.

I'm glad to see that David and Gillian seem to be liking each other again, although considering some awesome episodes were done while they were hating each other, maybe I shouldn't be so glad about that. Okay, never mind.
Is being shy an illness? I confess, a lot of this article resonated with me, though to a lesser degree than the people depicted.
I want to marry the person who wrote this NYT editorial about the presidential race. Sums it all up for me, PERIOD. "And it means that there is still a chance to take this campaign and elevate it, finally, to a serious debate about major issues. That is what American voters deserve. And that is what Democrats must do if they hope to break the Republican grip on the White House." YES. THANK YOU.
And in a truly brilliant post,

National Geographic Channel has a new special called Aftermath: Population Zero. I think it's so funny how the world without us is the new big thing. And check out the website if you want to see the Statue of Liberty's head fall off her shoulders. WTF.
While work is still insane, today's XF spoiler pics and Doctor Who spoiler pics made me happy. Thank goodness for entertainment.
