so, um, my real lost post

Although really, it's still mostly incoherent flailing. THEY MADE THIS EPISODE JUST FOR ME.

So....um. I liked that a lot. Obvs. Because I know they end up in a bad place, but I had been assuming/hoping that there was actually GOOD stuff between them before that, and now I know that there was, and that the reasons they were torn apart were essentially island-based (which again, I had assumed but didn't know) and not their love for each other. (And no, I don't see Kate doing something for Sawyer as a negation of her love for Jack, at all. Of course a part of her heart will always belong to Sawyer and if she made him a promise on that island, she's damn well going to keep it, because that's who she is, and Jack KNOWS that, but his judgment is a little compromised at the moment.) Plus, also, when addiction runs in your family, deciding to take heavy duty meds and drinking heavily is not a good idea, JACK. Although, I suppose if anything could bring that on, seeing your dead dad and getting messages from beyond the grave would do it. And the way it all went down just makes me convinced that ultimately they do find their way back to each other, because of their lurve. Even if it is kind of fucked up. I even enjoyed the fighting, because it was brutal and real and highlighted how messed up they both are and gah. *flails*

Also: "You're not supposed to raise him, Jack." HOMG WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I wonder if Jack being Claire's half-brother makes him close enough of a link that he ties in to the prophecy? Also, I'm now wondering if Jack KNOWS Aaron is his half-nephew and the reason he had such a hard time being around the kid earlier was because it was a reminder of what a slimeball his dad was? His saying to Kate "He's not even YOUR child" seemed to suggest to me that he knows? Or I could be totally wrong as usual.

(I want to give Hurley such a big hug. Poor Hurley.)

(And all this made me wonder even more than usual WHO IS IN THE COFFIN?)

OH AND THEN JACK PROPOSED TO HER WITH A RING AND SHE SAID YES. *flails* Again, even though it all goes to shit, that I got to SEE that makes me immeasurably happy. Well, that and the NAKED SHOWER KISSING and the BLATANT ASS GRABBING. Oh, the icons that will come out of this episode, yay.

And I love that this all took place AFTER the trial. Except now I am DYING to know what happened between them BEFORE.

And there was a Millennium Falcon on the counter! Awww.

But then I even loved all the little stuff on the island! Jack insisting that Kate hold the mirror! Kate walking him to the surgery tent! Kate crying and being torn over whether to leave or not and Jack calling her name! She was the last thing he saw before he went under! And then I thought I was going to have to hate Juliet even more than usual but she totally turned it around and made me not hate her for a minute! GAH!!!!

So, um, yeah. I'm a happy camper right now. Wow.

As for the rest: Jin giving Charlotte the smackdown was epic. Once a henchman, always a henchman, eh, Jin? But, I got so sad when Sun was showing him the monitor and stuff and he was all "I will get you and our baby off this island" and you know that he does but he doesn't make it and WAAAAH.

I'm kind of turning into a Sawyer/Claire shipper and it's freaking me out. And not just because it would get him away from Kate. It's just so...unexpected that I think it could be really interesting. Except maybe now she's dead along with her dead dad. Man, does that guy get around the afterlife or WHAT? I also laughed pretty hard at the "restraining order" stuff. So cute.

And not much else happened, did it. This was not exactly a plot advancement episode, but I DON'T CARE because I AM SO HAPPY. And next week's looks pretty chock full o' plot, so. In conclusion: Yay.

And if you want to be mildly amused check out my in-progress flaily post with participation from [livejournal.com profile] daygloparker and [livejournal.com profile] velocityofsound here. Hee.

And Survivor was awesome tonight, too. Woo hoo. And Supernatural was pretty good, the ending made me all verkelmpt. Good night of the teevee.

Idol explains Paula's screwup, which was what I expected, but, you know, she's also drunk/high/an idiot.

When economic times are tough, women buy more lipstick. Interesting.

And did you know that members of Congress get to lease their cars using taxpayer money? That's kind of crazy. I mean I guess it makes sense when they're in D.C., but, the rest of the time too? Here's an article about what some of them are driving, though it's NYT so is NY focused. Eye-opening stuff.

Someone sent me a link today to this UK commercial featuring the Gremlins of Gremlins fame. Awww, I loved that movie.

And I had a major high today, only to have it taken from me: there was a rumor out there that Richie Sambora was going to star in Rock of Love 3, and I pretty much exploded with excitement. But VH-1 says it isn't so. Dammit! I knew it had to be too good to be true.

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] alissabobissa! I thought your meta on the latest ep was fantastic, by the way, and need to get around to commenting. Hope you had a great day.

Yay! Someone else who noticed/loved the Falcon enough to mention it! *high fives*

I still can't believe it.

Also: if I think long enough about it (OR READ SOME BLOGS), I'm SURE there's some hidden meaning in the Millenium Falcon toy. This IS Lost, after all. Will the series finale feature Jack fighting a hallucination of Jacob in a cave? Unfortunately, it's late and my brain is in the off-position.

Awww, thank you! I had a good day. :D

I agree emphatically with every single word you said about tonight's LOST. I've always been a Jack/Kate person. I'm like you, I loved all the good before the bad and the reason it went bad made sense. GUH! Just every damn thing about this episode was awesome. Hurely needs hugs, Jin is the shit, Juliet may not be likable but she's not hate-able, and Sawyer is my snarky woobie. Dude, this show totally knew it was my birthday!

Lost is made of love...for me! And the Millenium Falcon, what is not to love!

I completely agree with this, even more so because he said "You're not even RELATED to him" which seems like he may know that he is.

Oddly, for me, I'm gonna take Jack's side on this episode.

I don't really think Jack would have acted like that--in the final fight with Kate, I mean.

What, in this episode, would have led him to pick a fight with her? I get that he's troubled. I get that what Hurley told him upset him. But Jack was Happy, and then, somehow, a switch is thrown, and now he's Self-Destructive Jack. If we're supposed to believe that he now thinks he's going to raise the boy the way he was raised--badly--Hurley's words weren't sufficient to do that, and didn't even bring up the Jack's Dad = Jack now thing--we had to pretty much insert that interpretation into the scene.

Essentially, I don't think Jack would have acted that way. I think he did so because the writers made him, not because he would have done so organically in the script.

There. I've defended Jack for once (and even meant it). The world is ending. :-) (But after that opening I thought, "Jen is going to love this." (-: )

As much as I loved this episode, I just know that LOST will ultimately break my heart. But oh yes, all those moments you mentioned were wonderful to see.

And the way it all went down just makes me convinced that ultimately they do find their way back to each other, because of their lurve.

Based on a few vague comments in the D&C podcast, I think this is a *fairly* safe assumption. Yay!

Also, I'm now wondering if Jack KNOWS Aaron is his half-nephew and the reason he had such a hard time being around the kid earlier was because it was a reminder of what a slimeball his dad was?

I think he does know--because of the "he's not even related to you!" comment--but I think his aversion to hanging around Aaron must be something more tangible than that, and will be revealed later. Or, if it IS just Jack freaking out about his own morphing into Christian, they'll probably spell that out for us. I think?

OH AND THEN JACK PROPOSED TO HER WITH A RING AND SHE SAID YES. *flails* Again, even though it all goes to shit, that I got to SEE that makes me immeasurably happy. Well, that and the NAKED SHOWER KISSING and the BLATANT ASS GRABBING. Oh, the icons that will come out of this episode, yay.

Agreed! I squeed so, so loudly when she came out of the shower (though, did anyone else think the shower voice sounded like Sun? Now THAT would have been surprising). I think I'd forgotten my Jack/Kate love on account of not having seen them in ages, but...it's back. Mmmm, pretty Jack/Kate.

Except maybe now she's dead along with her dead dad.

Even though I would be sad if this were the end of Claire (and the end of the funny, latent Claire/Sawyer), what an awesome way to go! She's like Elijah! (And wouldn't that have been awesome, Christian in a chariot of fire? Hee.) I am pro-disappearance rather than death for her, I think. Plus, Christian = creepy/cool.

Mmmm, Lost. I heart you.

regarding the Millennium Falcon

from this week's Lost analysis by J. Wood on the powells.com blog:
Christian Shephard isn't just appearing to Jack, though. He also appears to Claire, and her one tossed-off line that at least she's not seeing things anymore after the rocket attack on her cottage suggests she's been seeing Papa Christian for some time. Don't forget that Jack and Claire are half-siblings via Christian, which helps the Millennium Falcon shot make a little more sense; Luke and Leia were sibs (twins) whose ghost-dad would appear on occasion. (Does this make Christian Darth Vader or just Annakin?)
