Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about this. I mean, I think Whitney's good (better than Saleisha, god knows), and I am not surprised that Tyra felt she eventually had to give the gig to a plus-size girl to make a statement, but damn, Anya is totally a better model than Whitney IMO. Oh wait, this is ANTM, where that doesn't actually matter. Never mind. It was kind of an oddly abbreviated finale, wasn't it? I felt the runway show (which may have been a real designer, but was not a real fashion show) and the final deliberations were more rushed than usual. Or I could just be imagining things. Anyway, at least Whitney will probably actually be pretty decent in the "My Life as a Cover Girl" gig, which is all the ANTM winner pretty much gets to do these days anyway.



Whew! David vs. David, not really a surprise, but I was nervous anyway. And let's talk about how freaky those home visits were. I always appreciate it when fannish behavior makes me look normal. Because you know, there is a not a person on earth to whom I would THROW MY BABY and beg for them to hold it so I could snap a picture. WTF. I loved how Syesha was all "what the hell is wrong with people?" All three cities just freaked me out. Then I started thinking about how if I were an AI finalist and they wanted to come to my "hometown," I'd be like, "Um, god no, we are not going back there. Wait, you want to go to my HIGH SCHOOL? Are you MAD? You couldn't pay me to step foot in that place again!" Etc. Etc. Just one of many, many reasons why it's just as well that will never happen to me. ;)

David Cook's brother is CUTE. Seriously, move over David and give me your skinny geeky bro. Yum. Is he the same guy who's been sick, or is that another brother? By the way, I'm still very amused that the night of David Cook's first appearance on Idol, I posted that he was my new boyfriend. Hee.

Best moment of the night BY FAR: the shot of Simon's face while he was watching Fantasia's "performance." LOLOLOLOL. I would PAY for a screencap of that, it would be the icon for my LIFE. Hilarious. He was simultaneously repulsed and confused, just as I was. And then when it was over he looked at Randy with a WTF? look. Classic.

Watched the finale of The Hills. Meh. Liked the preview for next season though.

I'm kind of in love with the final Survivor Ponderosa vid, set the night after the final tribal, with everyone there, and lots of really cute Ozzy and Amanda stuff. Awwwww. I think that vid is the only time I've ever been even remotely tempted to try out for that show. But don't worry, the feeling passed very quickly.

Took the cat to the vet this evening. They drew blood and will check for all the usual stuff. Checked her glucose level right there and it was fine, so it's not diabetes. My scale apparently is a bit off and she hasn't lost quite as much weight as I thought she did, but, she has still lost more weight than she ever has before, to a degree that is unprecedented for her and very worrying. That's the part that's freaking me out more than anything. I should get her blood results tomorrow or Friday and we will take it from there. Thanks for all your kind thoughts for my poor kitty and me.

And now my phone for some reason has no dial tone. Because I do not have enough complications in my life right now, clearly.

ANTM - Anya over all took better pictures, but I thought Whitney's walk and commercial/speaking were better. Of course it's all about what Tyra wants so whatever. ;-)

What cracked me up about Simon's reaction to Fantasia is that he was her biggest proponent/fan IIRC.

I love your Tyra icon; it is brilliance. And I agree with everything you said about the ep. Anya should have won, but I knew it would be Whitney. Tyra has a checklist, and now she can cross off plus-sized girl (we finally crossed off 'blonde' with Caridee).

I didn't watch AI tonight, but I believe David has two brothers, the one who's sick and the younger one that he originally auditioned for AI with. Their names both start with A (Adam and...Andrew? I think?) hence the big "AC" on his guitar. And wow, is it sad that I know that.

Even though she was over the top, and Anya was totally a better model, I adored Whitney, and was glad that my favorite finally won (and I was shocked, especially since Nigel clearly hates Whitney). But Whitney will totally do a much better job than Anya in the life as a Cover Girl ads, agreed!

Lynx had his annual Senior Checkup yesterday - that's what they call it. :b The vet discovered a growth on his eye and has referred me to a feline ophthalmologist. It's going to be benign, I'm not going to let it not be. :(
