Lane is totally creepy, and yet, in some ways he's one of the kindest, most sympathetic characters on the show. Which is why his scene with Joan was SO AMAZING. Seeing someone express so much empathy is a rare thing on Mad Men, which makes it a real treasure when it happens.

Very true. And even his creepiness comes from a place of sadness and loneliness that is understandable, even if it goes about placating it in less understandable ways. ;)

Agreed about Megan, though we didn't get to see much interaction between Megan and Sally this time, so I will be curious to see how that develops. The way she looked at Megan lying in Don's bed didn't exactly look happy.
