it's raining, it's pouring, i wish i were snoring

This weekend is Brad's (and Mary McCormack's) last weekend in Boeing Boeing, so [livejournal.com profile] bexatious and I went for one last hurrah Friday night. And I'm so glad we did. I don't know if it was because it was the last weekend or because they've all been doing it for so long, but everyone was so relaxed and happy and Bradley just did not stop moving all night. Kept shaking his hips and wiggling his booty and was very limber. Unfortunately he is currently sporting the weed whacker look, which made me and Bex v. v. sad. But he made up for it by at one point jumping up onto the molding and putting his leg up on the top of a doorjamb. Yoga FTW! Guh. There were also on-stage shenanigans because two of the women lost their shoes and then it became a running joke with all the actors on stage and they were taking off their shoes and putting them back on and making jokes about it...it was hilarious. And the audience was great and it was just like one big party. A truly great night of theater.

Then afterward we haunted the stage door where Bex got drafted into being the official photographer for a Japanese tourist, hee, and I got pictures with Mary and with Brad.

She's so cute. She tore a calf muscle or something and was on crutches but can only wear heels! Isn't that crazy? I told her I was excited (okay I exaggerated a little) for season two of In Plain Sight and she said she was too.

Photobucket
He's SO THRILLED to be there, LOL. But look at the tight black t-shirt! Yum.

I asked Brad what he was doing next and he said, "Raising my kids." Fair enough! God knows the man could use a break. I was just proud of myself for finally saying a complete sentence to him other than "Can I get a picture?" Sigh.

So I think it's safe to say I've set a personal record for most celebrities photographed with in one week, eh? Hee.

On a semi-related note, if anyone hasn't seen it yet Richard Schiff has an editorial up on HuffPo. I think there are going to be some interesting times in his house ahead, ahem.

On an unrelated note, I bought this shirt today. I've seen it at Comic Con two years in a row and coveted it SO BADLY, and finally remembered to look it up and buy it. It's like it was made just for me, no?

Finally watched Gossip Girl!

That was fun, but some of it felt kind of weird, IDK. The Jenny storyline didn't work for me -- I would much rather see her suffering as a peon since that would be much more realistic. I'm not looking to see Jenny triumph right now, you know? The Dan/Serena reunion made me smile but also felt too easy, would have liked that dragged out for another couple episodes. Didn't really buy the grandmother's change of heart, also felt too easy. And where was Lily? The Chuck/Blair stuff was fine right up until Blair wanted Chuck to say he loved her. Just felt like a big jump and too dramatic all of a sudden. But the actors are divine together and the characters are delicious so they can keep doing whatever they want. I was extremely amused that the dress Blair wore to the White Party (where was Diddy?) is the same dress that Greenlee wore a few days ago on All My Children. But despite everything I just said I really enjoyed it and am very much looking forward to the new season. "Karma's a bitch and so is Blair." I love this show.

Also watched Psych and thought it was a great episode. Never thought Maggie Lawson was hot until I saw her in the heavy makeup and pigtails. And we got a Gus running away scene which makes me happier than anything. Curious to know what people thought about that last scene (aside from you [livejournal.com profile] jesshelga, heh). I thought it was really cute but I'm still pretty whatever on that whole thing. Only one more episode left this year, woe.

For the BSG folks, funny t-shirt: Thirteenth Colony for Obama.

And this Glarkware Mad Men tee is pretty awesome.

And to close things out, a story: yesterday morning on the crowded subway on the way to work, a little girl apparently cut herself or something. I'm not clear what happened but suffice it to say she had a boo boo. Her mother sat her down in the seat next to me and the girl is crying and I am trying to sleep. The mother explains to the girl that she doesn't "have any character Band-Aids, I only have grown-up Band-Aids." This makes the little girl cry harder. "I don't want a grown-up Band-Aid!" she says. I think for a moment, then dig in my bag, and extract a bandage. "How about a Belle one?" I ask the mother. The woman looks at me like I have three heads, then realizes what I have in my hands and can't believe it. "Look honey, it's a Princess Band-Aid just like we have at home! And it's even Belle!" She looks at me. "I can't believe you had that!" "I, um, use them myself," I say uncomfortably. "That is so random!" she marvels. Well, not really if you know me. The Band-Aid went on and the instant it did the girl stopped crying. It was a win-win situation for everyone involved.

I guess the moral of the story is that sometimes being a kid at heart can buy you peace on the subway. Or something.

Is Brad going to join the Marines with Season3!Lee and Razor!Kara?

Your band-aid story made me laugh. Mostly I was surprised it wasn't Hello Kitty.

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
It's the only explanation for that hairstyle.

Mostly I was surprised it wasn't Hello Kitty.

They were being kept in a Hello Kitty band-aid holder, if that helps. *g*

[identity profile] skywaterblue.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
That you have a bandaid holder bothers me (yet is also not surprising.)

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
The Hello Kitty band aid holder came with the Hello Kitty band aids. Hmm, I'm not sure that makes it any better or not. Hee. It's just a little wallet type looking thing.

[identity profile] skywaterblue.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
I was just imagining you at the Sanrio store being all, 'nope, got that, nope, got that... oh a BANDAID HOLDER?'

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. Well, that is a highly believable scenario. *g*

[identity profile] scarlettina.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
I feel so much better because, you know, I'm 46 and I prefer "Lion King" Band-aids myself.

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Grownup band-aids are boring.

[identity profile] scarlettina.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
BTW, in a comment only mildly related to your post, I've been rewatching WW season 2 and loving it. I really need to get season 3. That means I need to harvest other DVDs in my collection so I can trade them in at the local used DVD place. Aaaaah! What to let go of? Hm....

[identity profile] skywaterblue.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Character bandaids are of win. (Brad's hair is currently not.)

[identity profile] bexatious.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
We both spent the first ten minutes or so shaking our heads saying wrong, wrong, and making disappointed noises. Then the goofy kicked in and we got distracted.

But still... wrong.

[identity profile] bexatious.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I keep thinking about Mary's heels. They were truly gorgeous.

[identity profile] soaked-in-stars.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Mary is so freaking adorable. Yay for you!

And awwww, the band-aid story. I would've been able to provide Pooh or Finding Nemo. ;)
ext_23294: Gil Grissom from CSI wearing a stupid hat. ([heroes] - you like my fancy beret?)

[identity profile] velocityofsound.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Awesome pics. :) Mary just seems lovely, and ouch, her leg! That sounds crazy painful.

And oh snap, Richard Schiff. I love my wife... but sometimes not so much. ??????? That is exactly the type of ridiculously stupid shit Toby would have said to Andy on TWW (even if I agree with Schiff's positions pretty much 100%, DUDE TACT, U CAN HAS SUM?), I have to admit it made me laugh a little.

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I couldn't imagine having an injured leg but having to walk around in heels all the time because of it. OUCH. I noticed while she was on stage that she seemed to have some kind of support bandage on her leg. Her role is very physical so I'm not that surprised.

And yeah, some of that shit Schiff says makes me want to be a fly on the wall in that household for the next few days. YOWCH. But yeah, kind of funny. *g*

[identity profile] qill13.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
• I use character Band-Aids from time to time, but I usually only have grown-up ones in my purse.

• I covet that BSG shirt. Hmm...

• Thanks for the Schiff link. Interesting, but alarming.

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I had both on me -- am grateful I had a Princess to spare! And am glad they were Princesses and not Spider-Man, which I'd gotten before that, as I'm not sure how they would have gone over. *g*

[identity profile] adventurepants.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
I NEVER use grown-up band-aids.

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I almost never do, although I have some right now b/c I needed to get those little round ones? So I have a boring old variety pack. Thank god I had some Princesses left over in my purse!

[identity profile] jasminelily.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
That Band-Aid story is seriously adorable, and makes me want to go out and buy some Princess Band-Aids right now. The only ones that I have in my house look like my icon ;)

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Bacon Band-Aids win as well!

[identity profile] caz963.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Shame about the hair... I'll just have to stare at the t-shirt instead. Funny how he taketh away and giveth at the same time! ;-)

I loved the Schiff article.

[identity profile] kiss-me-cassie.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
You guys win for the play going! *g*

Also? I loved that the whole team got to play on Psych this week, but the romantic mush? Eh. The 'date' thing with the crabcakes was excellent but the skate thing not so much.

[identity profile] zandras-court.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I use the character band-aids too. They are a much better size/shape than the grown-up ones. I'm partial to the Pooh ones myself.

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the Pooh ones! I use those too. :)

[identity profile] flippet.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You know what's cracking me up? The "Raising the Bar" sign in the back of the photo. Mama's bringing home the bacon for a while. :-)

Aw, Mary is downright adorable.

[identity profile] chanel19.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
You have really been on a roll with the celebrity photos.

I love the Band-Aid story.

I was thinking about getting one of ThinkGeek's T-shirts for D. Do their sizes run pretty true?

[identity profile] dianora2.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I do not know about the t-shirts, this will be the first one I get from them. I can let you know once it arrives.
ext_19897: (*hugs* (NPH/Elmo))

[identity profile] juliedarling.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That Obama/BSG shirt is for win.

I totally buy character band-aids for myself, too, because I find Strawberry Shortcake and Hello Kitty and Care Bear band-aides, etc. to be adorable, but if a friend or co-worker's child injures herself and I must produce a band-aide, I always pawn them off on the nieces, like, "Got to have those around for the kids!"

[identity profile] prophetkristy.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww, saving the day with girly bandaids = made of precious win!!

You give great box, girl. I'm so jealous. Even though I know my Idaho-raised self could not deal with living in NYC.

[identity profile] snacktime.livejournal.com 2008-09-07 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I love this story about the Band-aid and the subway!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/bliss_/ 2008-09-08 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait until tonight's episode of GG, it get's better. (They aired it last night in Canada.)

Great pics, as always! And I love the "meh!" shirt.
