Bargaining between Viacom and Time Warner Cable has broken down. What this means, according to Nikki Finke:

At 12:01 AM on January 1st, just after the ball drops in Times Square, Time Warner Cable's 13.3 million subscribers will lose 19 Viacom channels -- Comedy Central; CMT: Pure Country; Logo; Palladia; MTV; MTV 2; MTV Hits; MTV Jams; MTV Tr3s; Nickelodeon; Noggin; Nick 2; Nicktoons; Spike; The N; TV Land; Vh1; Vh1 Classic; Vh1 Soul.

OMGWTF THEY ARE TAKING VH1 AWAY FROM ME. WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES. ROCK OF LOVE TOUR BUS PREMIERES ON SUNDAY AND THERE'S STILL THE CHARM SCHOOL REUNION SHOW AND THE REAL CHANCE OF LOVE FINALE AND OH MY GOD I FUCKING HATE YOU.

This happens all the time - Channel 7 disappeared off the TW Cable a few years ago during the May sweep. If it lasts a week, I'll be shocked.

When I was a kid our cable company threatened to take away MTV. It was PANDEMONIUM! There was picketing, even! This is back when people cared about MTV because they played videos!

So that's what the crawl on Nick at Night was last night. What is it with cable and stations here lately? We actually lost our local Fox affiliate for like two weeks earlier this year because of that kind of nonsense, (I am so far behind on Bones it's not even funny) and I think the local Dish network lost our local NBC station for a bit not too long ago, too. But a whole block of national channels? When will the madness end....?
