it's the little things that make me lose my marbles
I went to pick up my laundry after work tonight and it wasn't ready. I dropped it off on Saturday, which meant they should have had it for me on Sunday evening if I'd wanted it, but I told the guy no worries, Monday is fine. Monday at 7. I show up at 7:15 -- making a detour in single-digit windchill temps -- and it's in the WASHING MACHINE. WTF. And I got SO ANGRY, which is why I'm going to have a heart attack before I'm 40. Seriously, I was enraged. It's just...you know, all they do all day? Is do laundry. They can't use one more washing machine than they were using to make sure my stuff gets done when they said it would be? Aaaaargh.
I know, I know. These are the daily stupid things that I need to just get the hell over. And it's mostly just because I stayed at work later than I had to and made a detour in freezing weather, for nothing. (Plus I had a pretty bad day at work, so I just kind of snapped.)
Anyhoo. On to a more pleasant topic, Monday night television. Let's face it, I mostly just want to squee about Prison Break, which was so awesome tonight I can't even stand it. I really thought that was one of their best episodes, if nothing else in terms of pure fan service. LOL. No, seriously, Sara rocks so hard I can't even stand it. One minute she's silent and steely, the next she's choking a guy to death, the next she's confessing her love. And what's so awesome about her is she doesn't have special powers, or special training, or a mystical destiny, she's just a regular chick who kicks. ass. LOVE.
There was pretty much nothing I didn't love about this episode, from the moment Sara stepped off that train. When she's with the boys it's just electric. (By the way, all I could think during the Linc/Sara scene was that
domfangirl must be freaking out. Hee.) Every moment of that story was pure joy to watch, but none so much as the lovetalk and kissing. I'm a little disappointed at the direction they decided to take with it, because I saw an early version of the script and in there it was really hot and passionate, with Michael kind of shoving Sara up onto the sink and her grabbing at his belt buckle. I wanted belt tugging, dammit. But the way they decided to go, more romantic and tender, was quite lovely, and I really shouldn't complain. And the look on Michael's face when she says "never fall in love with a convict?" Guh. And then at the end when he says Me too, squeeeeeee. ♥ And I also loved how husband and wife they felt when he knocked on the bathroom door the first time and she's like "not now" and he sighs and walks away. Heeeeeee.
I could not stop laughing at the fact that even after taking some other guy's clothes, Linc still has the open shirt. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. It has to be on purpose at this point. Loved the not entirely unexpected reveal that it wasn't really President Reynolds on the line. Hoo boy, now he's pissed. Loved seeing that Bill Kim can fuck up.
Thought the Haywire/Mahone scene was suitably intense, although I expected there to be a bit more of Mahone talking Haywire into jumping. Still, well done. William Fichtner rocked that scene. And I was in hysterics at "Brad Bellick, FBI. Bradley Bellick, federal agent."
T-Bag was his usual creepy self although I'm not really sure what the point of the scene with the burbs lady was. Time killing until next week. Even the C-Note story didn't bore me, I liked the way he handled the junkie and was satisfied when the ex-military ex-convict guy FINALLY took down the strung-out skinny guy. Heh. It was a cool touch how the people in the diner covered for him.
Anyway, in case you hadn't figured it out, I loved loved loved this episode, and am very sad that we have a two-week wait for the next one.
24 was both predictable and surprising, and I am not surprised by that. *g* How fucked up was Jack torturing and hugging his brother at the same time? OMG. Seriously disturbing in the way only 24 can be. I was shocked when Graham confessed to killing David Palmer and Tony and Michelle (at which point I reflected that I am still in denial over Tony being dead, but oh well), and Keifer did an awesome job dealing with it. When Bauer Senior went in at the end I thought he was either going to say something evil OR kill Graham; I didn't think it would be both! Whoa! That was the part that surprised me, although that's probably not the right word. Whoa is the right word. *g*
What I did see coming a mile away was that Morris would be the analyst in question, and I hope they didn't think they were actually surprising us with that. Oy. But it should be interesting to see Chloe deal with that; she freaks out enough when Jack is the one in danger. And seeing Morris deal with Fayed should be interesting as well.
Powers Boothe! Too bad my mom doesn't watch 24, she would be so excited. It amuses me how pretty much every show on TV likes to depict Vice Presidents as bad guys. Hee.
This seems like a risky time for them to do a two-parter since there hasn't been much action lately; we shall see. Better be damn good to make up for taking away Prison Break for a week!
Studio 60 was enjoyable, although I was surprised that the moment where I got most excited was when Jack finally appeared on screen. Heh. I swear, my favorite scene in the entire episode was at the end with Tom and Jack smoking cigars, having drinks, and laughing. OMG. Someone needs to write me a Tom/Jack hetero bonding scene. Seriously. It's a little scary how excited I got by that scene.
Ahem. As for the rest of it, I thought the Matt/Harriet stuff was appropriately brutal -- you can tell Sorkin has been through breakups a few times. *g* Watching Matt flub the joke was truly painful. Sarah Paulson looked insanely gorgeous. And as I said last week, they need to break up for real, at least for a while. It will be good for them.
Jordan and Danny was kind of weird. It was all well and good until the ending with the note. A mash note? Really? That doesn't seem like Jordan's style. And to go from his questionable behavior just a few days before to passionate kissing was a stretch for me -- if Jordan had previously been reacting out of denial of her feelings rather than being, you know, creeped out, that should have come across more. Especially since she's totally right that it's too soon for him to be making these major life decisions. But Aaron wants to rush the romance along, so fine. It was nice to see Bradley do some kissing, and I did find the earlier stuff quite enjoyable. They need to do more with him mocking her, that's the vibe that suits them best, I think. Danny gives good mockage.
I'm over the Darius/Simon thing at this point, although I still love Darius. And I normally love Simon, so they need to let me get back to that. Although the Weekend at Bernie's line helped. And Lucy/Tom: still adorable. Cal, you tell that lady from Third Watch! Also, toxic mold, ha ha ha.
The scene with Jack and whatshisname where we find out whatshisname can speak English: loved. Finding out Jack is separated from his wife? Not crazy about that. Especially since it all happened off-screen. And it must mean they want him to have a love interest. Hmm. Still, I am loving the Jack. It helps that I am loving Steven Weber lately with his ultra-leftist blogging on Huff Post. Hee.
Flashbacks next week, yay.
How crazy is this? Jeffrey Dahmer may have killed Adam Walsh. Eeeeek.
OMG. When Harry Met Sally as a horror film. Genius.

Also, I laughed so hard at Bellick. BRAD BELLICK, I'M WITH THE BUREAU. Oh god. That was better than when he had a gift card to the Red Lobster.

Yeah, that was harsh. I liked it, even if I thought some of it didn't make cognative sense. But then again, none of my statements at the time of breaking up with someone ever make much cognative sense either. You know.
Especially since she's totally right that it's too soon for him to be making these major life decisions.
Word. Funny how her logical reasons for why not to date Danny somehow didn't register. What happens in four years to your kid, Jordan? Oh, I guess you're doing some risky betting now with the cokehead with the two ex-wifes.
They need to do more with him mocking her, that's the vibe that suits them best, I think.
I do too, but it's not necessarily a vibe that leads to a successful relationship. Viz. Matt and Harriet.
Finding out Jack is separated from his wife? Not crazy about that. Especially since it all happened off-screen. And it must mean they want him to have a love interest.
Word.

BWAHAHA! Genius, indeed. Thanks for the link.

And I agree with you about Bradley and the kissing. He sort of grinned in the middle of the montage kiss, and I sort of melted. And talso I agree that Danny gives good mockage. Heh.

But yes to the being nice to see Bradley doing some kissing. Slightly pissed that we almost got more of Jordan and Danny kissing in one freaking episode than we got of Josh and Donna in an entire seven year run.

Hey! Give me my brain back. ::snatches at it::
Jack has slowly grown into being my favorite character on this show. (It doesn't hurt that those Wings guys got really hot as they aged. ;)) and any scene he's in? I love.

Tom and Jack! So awesome.

And I adored the Tom and Jack stuff this week. I thought Jack was great back in the Pilot, but thought maybe there wouldn't be enough for him to do for us to see him very often. How glad I am I was wrong!
My one quibble with an otherwise excellent episode was that Jordan's turn around was maybe a bit fast given her reservations. But then I guess she was just wanting to be convinced! (Can we blame her?) :)

Mangst. I love it! You are too funny.
And once again, you and I agree on pretty much everything on the tee vee stuff. Well, except that I don't watch Prison Break. hee.
