I was watching Kidnapped tonight when an FBI agent mentioned the money drop would be at "Church Street station" in Brooklyn. I got SO excited because that's my subway station, and I remembered that a few weeks ago I had seen some filming going on down at the other end of the platform. And then they showed my station! I was in fact so excited by this that it took me a few minutes to process that they called it "Church Street station" when in fact it is the Church AVENUE station. Which is really lame when you consider that in the footage you can see the giant CHURCH AV sign above Timothy Hutton's head. And then they showed a train whiz by, but I think it was one of the new trains, and that was totally unrealistic because the new trains are only used on lines that run through rich neighborhoods. They would never use that for the ghetto train I take. Ha. Nice attempt to look good, MTA.

Anyway, I thought Kidnapped was extremely well-done -- great acting, good writing, interesting characters. I am skeptical as to how far they can take this story, but I'll definitely keep it on the watch list for the moment. Especially since they shoot in NYC and are using both Rescue Me and X-Files actors. (Is New York the new Vancouver?)

I also watched Jericho, which I did not like as much. I was about to give up around the 20-minute mark, but then things ramped up and kept me interested for the rest of the hour, so we shall see. The main flaw for me was that I just didn't find the characters particularly interesting -- the contrast in characterization between Jericho and Kidnapped was startling.

I also watched the second hour of ANTM (I'm not big on the audition episodes), and was pleased with the result. I already hate Monique with the fire of a thousand suns, and love A.J., who I like to pretend is our very own A.j., aka [livejournal.com profile] familyarchives. Hee hee.

The "new season" of Jeopardy has started, and the problem with watching it now is that with practically every contestant I think, "They liked HIM/HER better than ME?" It's giving me a complex.

This should be an Onion article, and yet it's not: Man legally changes his name to Pro-Life. You have to go read it, seriously. And you still won't quite believe it.

My TiVo gave me a synopsis for episode 3 of Studio 60. Doesn't really say much, but what there is, is behind the cut. )

So at this point I should just give up on getting the picspam done this week and start fresh on Sunday, right? Right? Sigh. I'm sorry. Busy busy.

Finally, please spare some good vibes for my friend [livejournal.com profile] dochyel, who suffered a minor heart attack. He is reportedly doing fine, but is still in CCU, and I worry.
