Dec. 2nd, 2006

Last night [livejournal.com profile] oeilade and I attended an event at the NYPL: Margaret Atwood interviewing Thomas Cahill (How the Irish Saved Civilization, etc.) about the Middle Ages. Yeah, it was AWESOME. Margaret Atwood is the queen of the non sequitor. The best part was when she referred to Hildegarde as "the original Nunzilla" and then had to explain to Thomas Cahill about the nun wind-up toy that shoots sparks. [livejournal.com profile] oeilade and I thought we were going to die laughing. ("You can get it at Urban Outfitters!" O. sputtered.) She also kept trying to read feminist mysticism into certain things and Cahill was like, "Err, no," which I found amusing. Also, Eleanor of Aquitaine was really tall so now I kind of want to see Allison Janney play her in a movie. Ha.

Anyway, that's why I didn't get to watch Battlestar Galactica until this morning. *g* Greatest. Episode. Ever. )

This afternoon my friend G. was kind enough to take me and the kitty to the vet so kitty could have a weigh-in. Well, kitty managed to GAIN weight. On a DIET. (Although if anyone could, it's her, believe me.) SO frustrated. So I have to cut back even more on the amount and need to try to get her to play more, which is tough because she tends to get bored with play pretty quickly, probably because she's so fat. *g* Aaaargh.

[livejournal.com profile] pamalax linked to this Prison Break video that is made of awesomeness, mainly because it's set to one of the greatest songs of all time. Spoilers up through the most recent episode.

New theory as to how the pyramids were built. Fascinating.

Radio host punks his audience and proves just how vile and racist people really are.

Get at least $30 back on your taxes next year.

Apparently David Duchovny directs the 12/13 episode of Bones. This amuses me.

I'm not a big gossip person, but something like this is just too much fun. Oh, Lindsay Lohan, you are such an irrelevant skank.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] jendaby! Hope your party was awesome. And a Happy Belated to [livejournal.com profile] lrcutter!
