Whasssssup. It's been a relatively uneventful few days. Turns out Windows XP Service Pack 2 DID install on my computer, and as a result I promptly started having connectivity problems. It screwed up my IP addresses or something. Luckily
bexatious came over and was able to sort it all out and fix it for me, because she totally wins at computers. (I did start having problems again this afternoon, but I have a feeling it was just Earthlink being cranky. Fingers crossed.) So that was a relief, because me not being able to get on the internet = too sad for words.
I did buy
this jacket in black at Target, and it is cute. But otherwise, most of what I did this weekend was catch up on TV. A recap:
Dirty Sexy Money. Love. Looooooooooooooooove. I am using an icon of my new fictional TV boyfriend Jeremy Darling in illustration. The second episode was great and showed some heart and gah, Donald Sutherland is frickin' brilliant. LOVE THIS SHOW.
Gossip Girl. More love. It's like Dynasty but with teenagers. And yes, coming from me that's a compliment. Also home of my second fictional TV boyfriend, Dan Humphrey. Must find an icon of him as well.
Bionic Woman. I actually thought the second episode was better than the first, save for the last ten minutes or so which was kind of lame. I'm willing to wait for this show to find its sea legs a bit.
Chuck. It's like I'm trying to convince myself to like this show, but I'm not entirely feeling it. I think it gets one more chance and then I might just let go. Especially since Mondays are going to be extra crazy now that
I Love New York 2 is starting tomorrow. (Woooooooooo!)
Finally watched the season premiere of
Las Vegas. I don't know, I may have to think about this one, too. It's still fun but I'm just so not into the Danny/Delinda thing. Maybe with a smaller cast Mike will get more screentime, though, and that would be good. We'll see.
Rock of Love reunion. Why can't they just make these shows two hours? We never get to hear enough from everyone and boy, did they spend WAY too much time on Lacey. The confrontations with her and Dallas and Brandi M. were pretty hilarious though. Also, I really don't understand why Bret didn't just pick Heather. I'm convinced it was a producer decision. Which didn't stop the ending from being kind of OMG and oh Jes, why did you wear the Chii t-shirt? So lame.
Michael Slezak at EW.com
has some good thoughts about the Cupid remake.
I
love Paul Krugman
a lot.
I also love
this editorial by Gail Collins: "People who live in New York tend to be a little stunned by the fact that their former mayor is the front-runner for the Republican nomination. Honestly, people, we thought you would have gotten over it by now. That the pictures of him in drag as Rudy/Rudina would have been enough all by themselves. Yet here he is, the leader of the pack. Obviously, the fishnet stockings went over better in South Carolina than we had anticipated."
I'm sure this will shock, just shock you:
Tens of thousands of Medicare recipients have been victims of deceptive sales tactics and had claims improperly denied by private insurers that run the system’s huge new drug benefit program and offer other private insurance options encouraged by the Bush administration, a review of scores of federal audits has found.Warner Bros. won't make movies with female leads anymore.
iPod Nano sets man's pants on fire.
I feel badly that I haven't done a
West Wing picspam in a while; I've just been so busy. I'm hoping to get one up next weekend.
