hallmark runs our lives
May. 11th, 2008 11:24 pmI adore my nephew beyond reason but my god, is he exhausting. Especially when's not put down for an afternoon nap. At one point we were playing games on the computer and I was literally almost falling asleep. SO TIRED. Oh, but you'll be happy to know my dad's Pacey Witter boat is coming along, kind of. He bought oars off of eBay and everything. But overall, PostSecret kind of sums up Mother's Day for me, so whatever. But, you know, Happy Mother's Day to the moms and stuff. *g*
I came home to a message from my landlord's son. I know why he's calling. He wants to replace the windows in my apartment. So this is a bit of a sticky wicket for me in that I am still hoping to move sometime within the next two months, unless my test results next week are Very Bad, in which case all bets are off, but assuming they're not, should I just flat out tell this guy that I'm planning on moving very soon and would prefer if he just waited until I left to replace the windows? Because my god do I not want to have to deal with that. On the other hand, there's always the risk that my telling him I'm looking to move will not go over well, although he seems like a really nice guy, so I don't think he'd be an asshole about it or anything.

I also didn't get to watch any live TV tonight, so I watched the finale to I Know My Kid's a Star, which I had luckily TiVoed before the cable outage. The main thought that show left with me is this: Danny Bonaduce is a douche. And I suppose I already knew that. So really, not sure why I watched this show, except that scary stage mothers are fascinating and horrifying creatures.
(At 10:05 PM I got depressed, realizing the Survivor winner was being announced at that very moment and I was missing it! Alas.)
Anyway, on the way home from my parents' I watched episode 2x02 of Torchwood, "Sleeper," and thought it was pretty kickass. So that was cool.
Then, I read this fantastic West Wing/Battlestar Galactica crossover, which is the WW/BSG crossover I always wanted to write but never did. And now I don't have to, because
anjali_organna did it for me. It's short but sweet and SO GOOD. Go read!!!
I also started writing a really really silly Lee fic that may or may not see the light of day. It's kind of crackfic, though I don't think it's actually funny enough to qualify for the label. I dunno. It kept me busy on the train.
Oh,
juliedarling was curious as to my reaction to these "viral" ads they're running for XF2. In case you somehow haven't seen them yet and want to, you can see Mulder's here and Scully's here. My main reaction is wow, these are really lame attempts at "viral" ads, not actual viral ads. My second reaction is, this very much bolsters what I've been saying about where M&S are with each other at the beginning of the movie. My third reaction is, I feel like I want to offer them some General Foods International Coffee.
