Just headed over to iTunes and the top 100 song list is hilarious. They allowed both Davids' final songs to be ranked, so Cook is 1, 2, 3 and Archuleta is 6, 8, 15. But there's so much more AI-influenced stuff on there, too. These numbers are off because Time of My Life by Cook is listed as #1 (so Cook is 1, 2, 3, 4) on the iTunes main page, but then when you click on the actual list, it doesn't show up, which is weird. So I guess each song is one number off, in reality:

(Real #1: Time of My Life, Cook)
1. Dream Big, Cook
2. I Still Haven't Found..., Cook
3. The World I Know, Cook
6. Don't Let the Sun..., Archuleta
8. In This Moment, Archuleta
11. Last Name, Carrie Underwood
15. Imagine, Archuleta
16. Apologize, OneRepublic
31. The World I Know, Collective Soul
40. One Step at a Time, Jordin Sparks
43. Praying for Time, George Michael
58. Sharp Dressed Man, ZZ Top
65. Hallelujah, Kate Voegele
75. Apologize, Timbaland remix
76. Summer of '69, Bryan Adams
77. Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley
93. Father Figure, George Michael
100. Imagine, John Lennon

And that's just the songs from the last two episodes. There are other AI-pimped songs on there too. Unbelievable. Collective Soul is PSYCHED. LOL.

As put in this article in the Times: "If pop music as reflected in American Idol resembles flavors of ice cream melting into a sweet, milky soup, the show’s vision of a mass culture in which rock, pop, country, rhythm and blues and the conservative fringes of hip-hop and jazz blur is profoundly reassuring."

Why yes, I am avoiding all the other things I'm supposed to be doing right now, why do you ask?
