in bed before 2, could've been worse
Aug. 10th, 2008 01:48 amHey guys. Mostly just wanted to say Bye! as I'm leaving for the Outer Banks tomorrow. The house is supposed to have high speed wireless internet, so I should be checking in from time to time. Will be gone from Sunday to Sunday.
I saw the XF movie for the second time today. It went down more smoothly the second time, much like The Phantom Menace did, but the stupid stuff was still stupid. Still wondering why the federal agent at the beginning didn't have a gun on her. She's a federal agent living in the middle of nowhere and she doesn't carry at all times? Okay. Also, I was kind of even more aggravated with Scully this time around, because she's the one who talked Mulder into it knowing FULL WELL what he's like and then gets angry when he acts like, you know, himself. But, the cute stuff was more fun the second time around since I wasn't expecting anything better. A certain character's fall to death is still my favorite part though, ha ha. Oh, and the manly hug at the end had the three of us AND the people sitting behind us laughing out loud. Hee. The ex-boy made an astute observation that the plot was clearly hampered/dictated by the very small budget they were given to make the movie -- one reason it felt more like an episode than a movie. Anyway, I look forward to owning it on DVD where I can mock/fast forward the stupid parts and watch the better stuff. Gillian Anderson sure is purty. Think I need to rewatch some old, GOOD eps to feel more of the love.
Has anyone else seen the new Dirty Sexy Money commercial? It's mostly old footage, but then there's this AWESOME shot at the end of Brian and Jeremy sitting in the back of a limo, and Brian is totally pimped out with sunglasses and a suit, and Jeremy says something like, "Let's go do the Darling," and it is SO EXTREMELY AWESOME. I cannot wait for that show to return.
NBC press release for the BSG movie for those who haven't seen it. Sounds kind of boring, truth be told.
I have little to no interest in the Olympics. Maybe I'll watch some gymnastics at some point? Sorry. I don't watch the Super Bowl either.
Meanwhile I'm trying to debate whether to watch Gone Country 2. Not as fun a cast this time, but Sean Young + Sebastian Bach does portend some batshit insanity ahead. On the other hand, I have no tolerance for John Rich anymore. Decisions, decisions.
I also wanted to wish a slightly late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to
michellek! Hope it was Alec Baldwin-errific.
