Well, after a painful, yucky time confined to my apartment last week, this past weekend was quite lovely to make up for it. Saturday night I met up for drinks and food and frolicking with the visiting ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
juliedarling and locals nicole_anell, trjeannette, and wmpoty. juliedarling got drunk (she did, don't listen to her) and kept telling me how pretty I was and how pretty my hair is. Because I am not good at taking compliments, it went something like this:
Julie: You're so pretttttty.
Me: You're drunk.
Julie: Your hair is so pretttttty. *pets hair*
Me: I'm going to kill you.
(And people wonder whether I like them or not. I can't imagine why.)
She also filled me in on some startling details about the later books in the Twilight series, which, WHAT THE EVERLOVING FUCK? Holy mother of god. I knew there had to be some weirdness, but.....IT'S SO MUCH WORSE THAN I EVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED. (Message tooeilade: has Hannah read Breaking Dawn yet? Because if not, I forbid it.) I am freaked out that supposedly Obama is reading these books with his girls. Don't do it, Barack!
Then on Sunday I headed over totrjeannette's for brunch, where I also got to hang briefly with bigboobedcanuck and bliss_ and a couple other LJ ladies, and met queenofthorns (and the Dauphin!). Through a confluence of events juliedarling and I wound up having lunch at Max Brenner later by ourselves, and it was OMGSOGOOD that we were in food heaven. Then I wanted to head over to Coach to use this 25% off coupon I had. My intended exciting purchase? A 2009 calendar refill for my organizer. Then we got there and discovered that a whole bunch of shoes were on sale. And that my 25% off coupon was applicable to sale items.

Anyway, Julie wasennabling encouraging through it all and thus we decided they are officially my Julie Boots. I shall wear them proudly. Now I just need to buy some skirts to go with them.... Also, I've never owned nice boots like this before, so any care and feeding advice would be appreciated.
I also got an awesome package this weekend fromharpinred. I had commented in her LJ that I wanted a Loch Ness plushie (whilst I was green with envy about her actually being at Loch Ness), and she sent me two of my very own! ( Behold the cute! )
On another note, I need to give a public thank you and shout-out tooeilade for going way above and beyond helping with my convalesence after my procedure, and to girlunravelled for keeping me company the day oeilade was at work. Yay for friends! Seriously, you all help keep me from going off the deep end, and it is greatly appreciated, even if I don't express it often enough.
Speaking of which, Happy Belated Birthdaysharinlilbit! And anyone else I may have unfortunately missed.
