hello internets
Dec. 30th, 2008 12:29 amSo...I haven't really posted in a while. Was in complete nephew immersion while at my parents' and didn't really access the internet (eeek!). Had a good time hanging out with my little man -- I certainly saw a lot of him since I babysat him a few days before that. Which was fun, but also completely exhausting. I don't know how you parents do it. I think my favorite part was when he performed a lesbian wedding between two of my Barbies. AWESOME. Then we watched Snow White, which he then proceeded to watch another three or four times while at my parents' house. He is obsessed with that movie, which I find extremely amusing.
(Incredibly cute aside: after asking for the movie forever, my brother and SiL finally gave it to him by giving it to "Santa" to hand out at his daycare Christmas party. Aidan was SO EXCITED to get his beloved Snow White that he raced back to Santa (the only kid to do so) to thank him, and exclaimed, "I've been asking for this!" Hee.)
( Obligatory nephew pics. )
Anyway. Overall had a good Christmas, and got some good stuff, although am a bit miffed that my brother got Lost season four from his wishlist and I didn't (WTF?). The main consequence of the weekend was getting hooked on my brother's Guitar Hero (which I bought for him) to the point where I headed out to Circuit City today and got my own. So now I'll be posting even less, LOL.
My mother was thrilled with the John Barrowman calendar I got her, by the way. Ha ha ha ha. And I got my dad some Serenity graphic novels from his wishlist. We are such a family of geeks.
Haven't been up to much else, other than battling a cold -- was very happy to see
kiss_me_cassie and
intopolitics for brunch on Saturday, after which
girlunravelled and I did some shopping and then
bexatious and I did some Wii-ing. I think I'm getting a little better at Mario Kart, but am still so much worse than everyone else that it's kind of irrelevant. Tomorrow I have three, count 'em, three doctor's appointments (nothing yucky though thank goodness), then dinner and gift exchange with
oeilade. Lots of running around tomorrow.
As far as TV, I'm finally caught up on Charm School and Real Chance of Love -- was very happy with the Charm School ending, and can't WAIT for the reunion. Real Chance of Love can only end badly. I can't believe the next Rock of Love starts on SUNDAY. Holy moly. As does Confessions of a Teen Idol, which stars Scott Baio and which I am all over. And they just announced that I Love Money 2 premieres on January 26th! With Tailor Made and Buddha! VH-1, YOU'RE KILLING ME. OMG.
I did watch The City tonight, and...I dunno. I'll have to see. It was perfectly fine (although I kind of kept waiting for them to go back to Lauren scenes, LOL), but it being in my own city made it harder to watch, showing me a life I never had because I wasn't thin and gorgeous or rich. And the whole "uptown vs. downtown" thing is lame. But Olivia Palermo is obviously batshit insane, so that's something. By the way, here's the infamous New York Magazine article that lays out all the Palermo scandal.
In actual quality television news, these Lost promo posters are pretty darn cool.
Also, Robin got married on General Hospital and Robert and Anna were there and they showed flashbacks from when Robin was little and wow, it was awesome. Only soaps can give that kind of payoff -- seeing a character get married who has been played by the same actress for 23 years. Sniffle. Moments like that are why I still watch even though most of it sucks.
That's all for now...will try to get back to posting regularly. :)
