Hi all, finally finding some time to do some con write-up.... so here are my pics/stories about personal encounters with people (including my yearly funny photo op), mostly BSG but also Karen Allen of Indy fame....

OK, so first off, I can't believe I forgot to tell my Dirk Benedict/Richard Hatch story in my last post. So here's that. )

So yesterday was...not so great. I will preface by saying that [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63 is a good friend, and never more so than when she is being the Ethel to my Lucy. In this particular instance, I talked her into attending this with me, primarily for the LULZ and in the hopes of seeing Susan Lucci. (I of course was excited to see Ricky and Chrishell, who portray my favorite soap couple of the moment.) We took our chances and asked for the upper desk of the bus.

Well, yesterday in New York, it rained. And rained. And rained. Yahtzee and I huddled together in our raincoats and umbrellas and drove around the city for three hours. Because of the rain, half the promised cast didn't show up, and half of the ones who DID show up didn't really come up top because of the rain, including the ones I most wanted to see. I will give many thanks to Danny Kennedy and Adam Mayfield for being really awesome about socialzing, though; too bad they weren't the folks I was interested in seeing. :(

They didn't even have the narration going on the tour bus, so there was...no tour. Just randomly riding around the city. With most people on the bus not from here and not knowing what they're looking at. If I were just a little more outgoing I would have gotten up and given my OWN tour. ;) Oh, and to top it all off, we were sitting near the most annoying women on the planet. Loud and shrill and not anywhere near as funny as they thought they were and not intelligent enough to be clever, and.... I don't know, it's funny how PROPRIETARY soap fans are about their stars. Like, when some of the guys did come over, the women were pawing all over them. I would NEVER do that unless it was a photo or something like that. I don't know, it's weird.

Anyway, the day was pretty much a bust, but having Yahtzee there helped a lot, and at least the $$ went to benefit a good charity (Operation Smile), or else I'd REALLY be pissed. And we had a nice dinner at Brooklyn Diner afterward.

Today, of course, was a GORGEOUS, PERFECT DAY, and I might have spent more than a little time being bitter about that.

As for tonight's Mad Men.... you know, they could have an entire hour of Don/Sally scenes, and I would not complain about that one bit.

And how much did I love last week's Psych? "The man cobbles."

And wow, Kanye West is an asshole.

Finally, the extended Lee/Kara scene from TABFAYW BREAKS MY HEART. Fucking Ron Moore.

Happy Belated Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] ascian3!
