Hey all, just thought I would check in. The kitty is doing so-so. She's doing a bit better with the cone of shame, but she's clearly not happy about it and I'm starting to think she's depressed. Poor thing. And eating is an ongoing struggle as she can only eat wet food which is not what she likes to eat at all, so basically I feed her but then have to wait around for her to be absolutely starving before she deigns to eat anything. Which is annoying because she can't really eat with the cone on so I have to keep doing this off and on dance with her. Ugh. I can't believe I have over a week of this still to go.

Saw an interesting documentary today called "Waking Sleeping Beauty" about the decade of 1984-1994 at Disney and how the animation department became revitalized and made The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. I definitely recommend it to hardcore Disney fans like myself, or to anyone who's really interested in Hollywood politics and behind the scenes doings. Anyone else, I'm not so sure. But I enjoyed it (especially some archival footage they showed of Howard Ashman coaching Jodi Benson re: Part of Your World, which gave me chills) and one of the producers was there after the screening and did a nice Q&A. I think it's in extremely limited release but I imagine it will be on DVD pretty quickly.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I hated Alice in Wonderland, which is a shame seeing as how I'm a fan of Tim Burton and a fan of Lewis Carroll, but....wow, WTF, dude. Thanks for shitting all over a couple of great books. Sigh.

On a TV note, I am sad but not surprised about 24 being canceled. They're hot to do 24 feature films so why keep doing the show? And ordinarily I would have been quite accepting of this, but then they had to suck me in with the Jack/Renee ship. Grrrr. Sadly I have a feeling Renee has a big target on her back and is not long for this world, so I may be so bitter I'll wind up glad the show is ending, but we'll see. (It's wrong that I'm hoping they kill Jack's baby granddaughter instead of Renee, right? I'm okay with that.)

But with both 24 and Lost ending this season, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself! Woe.

Meanwhile, James Morrison, who played Bill Buchanan on 24, is totally becoming my Twitter buddy. He RTs my political stuff sometimes and when he said something about how proud he was to have been a part of the show I thanked him for his part in it etc, and he responded, "@cynicgrrl you're sweeter and sweeter, thank you." Love him!

I bought this dress at Ann Taylor Loft yesterday; it's a little tight on me so it's going to be motivation to lose a little weight to fit in it better. I really love it, though, especially the color, and it was 30% off, so yay. I don't buy dresses very often so it was kind of a big deal for me. May or may not wear it to a wedding I'm going to Memorial Day weekend.

Meanwhile, I'm going on a trip to Los Angeles NEXT WEEK, which is completely insane to me what with everything going on. At least the kitty's stitches will be out by then. I don't know which one of us is more excited about that. ;)
