Day 2 is: A show that you wish more people were watching.

I had to chew on this one for a while. Mainly it came down to vacillating between Chuck and the show I ultimately chose. Because while I love Chuck and it's one of my favorite shows, lots of my friends already watch it, and there's plenty of evangelizing going on for it already. :) And the show I did choose has the potential to be Fandom's Next Big Thing if more people would just give it a chance, or another chance:

Photobucket
Fringe.

This is a show that was admittedly (even by the show's creators) rocky for about 2/3 of the first season. But suddenly the show told them what it needed to be, as JJ put it, and ever since then it has been firing on all cylinders. It's spooky, thrilling, often gross, funny, and soulful. It has an interesting mythology with a family tragedy at its heart, and it's been unfolding in a way that is much more organic to the show than was done in The X-Files. You still get monsters of the week, but many of them are ultimately related to the overarching mythos. Plus there is a kickass alternate reality. Alternate reality, people! And Leonard Nimoy! John Noble is brilliant, and deserves an Emmy. Joshua Jackson is the hotness. And Anna Torv has been showing layers lately that I didn't think she had. It's a great ensemble. And it is SO RIPE for fic and such.

Did I mention there has already been a kiss? *g*

Put it another way: almost everyone who witnessed me and [livejournal.com profile] kelbelle completely freaking the hell out on Twitter during the season finale gave watching this show another thought. Join us, won't you? :)
