Hey all, whassup. Had a busy few days and then a slow day today. Thursday night [livejournal.com profile] divanoir and I went to a free screening of 30 Days of Night. It was...pretty much what I expected. I don't normally go to movies like that so I don't have much of a yardstick for comparison. I thought it was a decently done movie, based on a good idea mangled by Hollywood. If you like that sort of thing I would recommend it, I guess. Friday was lunch with the ex-boy and then evening Costo shopping with G. & B., where I bought too much stuff for my nephew, then yesterday was a party at [livejournal.com profile] paleologa's, where I ate the most awesome brisket ever and, even better, she gave me some leftovers and I ate it again tonight. Yum.

Today I went to the local Stop & Shop because they have a Coinstar machine and I had an assload of change. How much of an assload? Thirty dollars worth, my friends. I did some errands afterward and still came out ahead. Awesome.

Also caught up on TV. I love Gossip Girl SO. MUCH. Dan and Serena reduce me to a gibbering fangirl and oh, the bitchery is so sublime and the outfits, guh, the outfits, and did I mention Dan and Serena? Love. I think I'm primarily watching Pushing Daisies at this point for Emerson, who is made of win. Supernatural was WAY too much fun this week, I enjoyed the hell out of that episode. Well done. Viva Laughlin was harrible, as Thom Filicia would say. Did anyone else watch this? They sing WITH the original songs, and the original drowns out the person's voice, and hello, it's Hugh Jackman, why are you covering him up?? And the lead is a douche and oh, it was awful, just awful. Well, one less show I have to concern myself with. And is anyone else still watching Desperate Housewives? I'm enjoying it so much this season.

Bobby Brown to do country reality.

Kiefer dressed as a giant liquor bottle.

Amazing Race DVD Game. Sounds wacky.

My celebrity boyfriend (British edition) is the biggest dork on the planet. But he's wearing a suit and real shoes, yum. And he and Tricia Helfer are so hot together I can't even stand it.

Nicki Clyne and Nick Brendon karaoke-ing "Tainted Love." You can't tell me Nick Brendon is not stoned.

Last bit of BSG: the third webisode is worth watching if you haven't yet, because Adama is totally fighting the original Cylon fighter ships. Awesome.

Japanese people dressing as vending machines to fight crime. I can't make this stuff up.

Everything that's wrong with our healthcare system in a nutshell: United Healthcare posts 15% profit. They brag about not adding "customers," i.e. people who need healthcare, and brag about their "medical ratio" being down, i.e., the amount of claims they reimburse. Remember, every time they pay for your claim, they're losing money, so they try to do it as little as possible. Sickening. Literally.

But hey, as you go through your week, that no matter how bad things seem, at least you weren't attacked by wild monkeys! That's something.
