I'm with you on the Russert issue. I feel bad for him and and his family, but yeah, that's about it. Because I am that strange, I have thought to myself a few times that, hey, somewhere in Baltimore, Megan Russert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan_Russert) is mourning the loss of her cousin.
The flooding is really just a few hours away from us by car, and seeing the news about it is a little surreal. Not least of all because this is flyover country and news coverage is usually pretty skimpy. They're talking about Iowa? Wow, it must be bad.
