This episode was a bit up and down for me, but mostly good. The First Gentlemen getting all paralyzed and shit was creepy! And Renee yelling at Jack tore my heart out (and Jack's too!). I do not like that other FBI guy "has feelings" for Renee, though, as she clearly belongs with Jack! Janeane Garofolo continues to not be very good and I don't know why they think I care about the douchey guy having an affair. The ending with Jack and Tony burying Renee was suitably chilling.

Chuck and Lily made me cry, you guys! AWWWWWW. I kind of love them together (in a strictly platonic way, of course). You could see that Chuck was genuinely touched by the fact that Lily had already planned to adopt him, and I loved when he saved her from suddenly over the top rapist Jack. Way to send your villain into a quick irredeemable spiral -- although hey, Chuck started out as a date rapist and now he's one of the romantic leads on the show, so anything is possible. ;P Dan and Serena made my heart break especially since new teacher girl is boring, and it already seems like she's going to be in it too much. I kind of hate Rufus and Lily for doing that to them. Leighton Meester looked really pretty in this episode. That's all I've got.

I loved this episode! I can see why it reignited [livejournal.com profile] jesshelga's crush on Tim Omundson, he was great in this. I love when they show Lassiter actually being a good, competent officer, because the idea of Shawn being able to do everything the SBPD can't gets old after a while. And Shawn and Gus helping him out was just too much fun. There were also a lot of great bits and lines, including the Kenny Loggins references, the Flashdance pose, "you're thinking about cupcakes, now, aren't you," and more. Just a great, fun episode.

Hey, I enjoyed this tonight. They suddenly realized that hey, maybe their female heroine should kick ass once in a while, and introducing her sister and niece was a nice way to finally give her at least something of a background. And there was Peter shippy stuff, which is good because nobody does smitten like Joshua Jackson, sigh. Also, I liked that Olivia just shot that woman in the head. No muss, no fuss!

Perhaps the only thing I will miss about the Bush presidency is no more of Letterman's Great Moments in Presidential Speeches. Great montage at the link.

[livejournal.com profile] daygloparker makes a great observation about the BSG Last Supper picture in light of the most recent episode, here. I really want to do some kind of roundup of all the great theories I've seen bouncing around LJ over the past few days, but doubt I will have time to do so before I leave for Belize. Especially since I am going out to dinner tomorrow night and then it is time for LOST, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I did manage to watch most of the inauguration today, though some of it was on a live feed on the computer, which basically sucked. The funniest part was that there was a huge crowd watching in Rockefeller Center right below our building, so every time they showed that crowd on TV, we laughed, and every time that crowd roared/clapped, we could hear it. It was kind of hilarious.

[livejournal.com profile] suricattus, one co-worker who was watching online said he heard the crowd singing "Na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" when the helicopter took off. So you were on TV! *g*

In conclusion, not a great day for me, but hopefully a great one for the country. I threw out my Bush's Last Day keychain today, so that was a nice moment. The day is finally here! Remember when it seemed so far away?
