Finally! Of course, I am cheating a bit as I only went to one panel on Saturday. *g*
intopolitics and I got in to Heathrow that morning; our hotel room wasn't ready yet, so we went to the room at the con hotel that
nicole_anell had stayed in the night before and crashed for an hour while Nicole went to her photo op. Then when she was done the three of us went over to our hotel for the next two nights, checked in, and Lz and I crashed for another couple hours while Nicole went back to the con. LOL. Luckily the panel with Jamie and James wasn't until 3:30 PM, so I was able to rouse myself by then and head over to the con.
The bad news: the ballroom that the panels were held in had pretty much the worst lighting in the history of the world, so even though I had a good seat, my pictures came out crappy b/c of the lighting. So only a few came out well. I share them with you here. :)
As would be expected, Jamie Bamber and James Callis on stage together = a lot of hotness in one place. Also a lot of Britishness. *g* I will not do a detailed recap as
nicole_anell already did a thorough one, so I don't have to. And thank god because I don't remember all this very well at this late date. *g* Seriously, her entry is recommended reading, very detailed. I am most upset that I apparently screwed something up when I was taking video of Jamie talking about the pigeon (and huge props to
airings for asking the question -- TOTALLY my highlight of the panel to see/hear her ask that) and the video didn't record. Grrrr. Just know that it was pretty hilarious to hear both of them say "the fucking pigeon" a lot. (ETA: See
nicole_anell's comment below for a link to
eugis's video of the answer!)
Also, apparently Jamie lent James his black leather jacket, which I choose to interpret means that James was staying with Jamie (who lived just minutes away from the con), which is just the most adorable thing ever.
Here are some pictures. Again, apologies for the crappy quality. As you'll see in many cases my pictures of the big screen came out better than my pics of the people themselves. Like this:

I love this one b/c it's such a Jamie expression. Also, as you can see he had kind of an urban lumberjack thing happening that day. LOL.

HOW CUTE ARE THEY.

James holds forth. I love it when he does that.

Blurry but I felt obligated to include a shot before Jamie took his jacket off. *g*

Perk up, Jamie!

This is really blurry but I feel like this is from when he was talking about the pigeon so I had to include it. *g*

Heeee. This is so James I can't stand it.

James gets loungey.

They look skeptical.
Okay, video. I have to apologize here, because what I would do is start out taking video of the screen and then move it to the boys, not realizing with my tiny screen on the camera that it's much more blurry that way. Still, the audio is good.
Here is Jamie talking about the finale, where he says that Lee and Kara are "intertwined" and it's all very lovely but did little to temper my finale bitterness. *g* He had been asked what he thought happened to the characters post-finale. Points for not saying "got eaten by a lion!"
Here is James answering the same question. He talks about the farming line.
Here's Jamie talking about how he ended up on Dollhouse and how he didn't want to use a British accent but loved working with Tahmoh again. By the way, you can imagine how I felt about that giant red head right in front of me for the whole fucking thing. When I rule the world, tall people will not be allowed to sit in the front row, anywhere. ;)
Here's James talking about what it's like for a "bad" character to do a right thing. This is also the part Nicole refers to where James explains the plot of "33" to Jamie. LOL.
Anyway, it was an absolutely delightful hour; so much fun to see the two of them together and joking around, riffing off each other, etc. I had a big ol' grin on my face the entire time. And they're both so lovely and polite and intelligent and charming and, um, hot. :D
Didn't do too much else that day seeing as how I was completely exhausted. Nicole and I did manage to make it back over to the hotel that evening for the "party," where I confess I had true culture shock for the first time. We walked into the ballroom, where a DJ was playing "Men in Black" and the small crowd was....group dancing. It was weird. From what I could tell group dancing is a big thing in Europe. It was disorienting. But it was lovely to get to formally meet and spend some time with
airings and
eugis.
airings had my favorite comment of the night when she leaned over to me while we were dancing and said, "This must be very strange for you. A few hours ago you were in New York, and now you're in England, dancing in a room with a bunch of Europeans, to an ABBA song. You must be very confused." LOL. I was indeed. The one thing I hate about traveling to Europe is how completely useless I am the first day there due to the overnight travel. Oh well. Luckily our hotel was fabulous -- definitely recommend the Sheraton Skyline if you need to stay near Heathrow airport for some reason -- with a comfy bed that gave me a good night's sleep.
So Sunday's report will have a lot more content, including personal encounters, in which James implies that he finds me not completely unattractive. ;)
