not the best day ever, apparently
Jan. 22nd, 2008 10:57 pmHeath Ledger -- I don't have much to add beyond the sentiments seen around my f-list, including "What the fuck," "Holy shit," "God damn it," etc. So, so sad. I own Brokeback Mountain dammit! What a waste. His poor little girl. And as others have noted, seeing Dark Knight is going to feel a bit macabre, now. Shit. Don't do drugs, kids. Don't. Do. Drugs.
This on top of finding out today about multiple people I know either having cancer or possibly having cancer....2008 is not off to a good start, people. Ugh.
Plus the market is tanking, or something....? I confess it all makes my head swim, but it seems to be bad.
I did a little research today and discovered that 40% of all house cats are obese, so at least I'm not alone. Made her chase the food dish around the apartment a little bit tonight, but that will only work two or three more times before she figures out that she's getting the food eventually regardless. ;P
( HOW CUTE IS THIS PICTURE? Democrats behind the cut. )
Speaking of cute -- how did I not know that Matthew Perry and Lauren Graham are an on-again, off-again item? Thank goodness
colorstoobright is here to tell me these things. They're so adorable.
Speaking of adorable -- Aaron Douglas, I mean,
chieftyrol, just answered a bunch of questions over in this thread on the
aarondouglas comm. Some pretty funny stuff to be found there. I am gratified to learn he likes Cap'n Crunch, truly a man after my own heart.
So....were those Oscar nominations kind of weird, or what? Maybe because they know they might not even have a ceremony? I was pleased by the multiple Alan Menken noms, but puzzled at the same time. Not a fan of "So Close" so that one in particular surprised me. (And yet a small part of me screams out, SUCK ON IT ELTON! Ahem. I'm a little bitter.) And do we have to keep pretending Juno is such a better movie than it is just because it's indie twee? It's good, but....come on.

researchgrrrl: Egypt trying to copyright the Pyramids. You know, I blame this all on the Empire State Building.
Caught a bit of an old Seinfeld ep tonight, the one where they're casting Jerry and George's pilot, and I'd forgotten that Jeremy Piven played "George." With his real hairline no less, HA. God bless plugs. Also, "Elaine" was played by a younger Mariska Hargitay, which was also extremely amusing.
I finally watched an episode of Miss America Reality Check, and mostly enjoyed it, although I find myself disoriented by a reality show in which no one actually gets kicked off. Who cares if you're in the bottom three then? Weird.
Enjoyed American Idol tonight, too. The audition shows are so much more palatable in one hour-sized doses, and there were some good singers tonight, and some Simon charm. Even Paula got in a funny. Good show. And apparently there are a couple new episodes of Chuck still to air? That makes me happy.
So, seriously -- how long until Brokeback/Jake/Heath wank explodes? Because you know it's coming.
