How did I not know that the BSG cast taped tomorrow's Letterman appearance YESTERDAY? (Tons of photos at link.)

The saddest part? I had the day off yesterday. I totally could have gone over there. FAIL.

I have to go pout now.
The day got off to a crappy start with my morning deli raising the price of a bagel (grrr), but was salvaged by my getting both my preorders of BSG Season 3 and Enchanted. Yay!

I thought Obama's speech today was excellent. My only worry is that he may have been too blunt for those who prefer to have their heads in the sand on this issue -- and that's a LOT of people. By the way, here's a bunch of other pastor statements, including some from McCain's number one supporter, John Hagee, who thinks Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans because there was a gay pride parade scheduled for that day.

And another DKos link while I'm here, much as that site has been aggravating me lately: House Republicans gag witnesses against credit card companies. It's been a while since a political story made me quite this sick to my stomach. The credit card companies OWN US. For real. And we just put up with it. Horrifying.

Hmmm, might as well get the other depressing stuff out of the way:

Mike Farrell blogs about prison rape. No, really, that Mike Farrell. Weird.

[livejournal.com profile] nnaylime linked to this blogger's I Am Hillary Clinton rant, but what really resonated with me on the site was this great entry on street harrassment. It perfectly sums up how sexism is omnipresent for us, despite those who just. don't. get it.

Anthony Minghella died! He was so young! And Arthur C. Clarke, though he was 90, at least. I've only read 2001 but damn was that a good book.

And now for something completely different...

American Idol )

This is old, but I only just saw it because [livejournal.com profile] proggrrl linked to it: Battlestar Galactica and Lost, separated at birth. So much of it is eerily true! I mean, I've always seen the Lee/Jack parallels -- there's a reason they're respectively my favorite character on each show -- but the rest of it is funny too. Although Starbuck would put up with Sawyer for about five minutes before thoroughly kicking his ass and then ignoring his existence from then on. I mean, seriously.

You know, I can't even express my love for this picture of my BSG boys (plus Michael Hogan *g*). It's too big for words.
