Whassup. Had a pretty good time at Lunacon this weekend. Got to see some peeps, attended a wonderful memorial celebration for [livejournal.com profile] dochyel (Lunacon last year was the last time I saw him alive, so that was a little rough), and wasn't too traumatized by the breakfast buffet this morning. I also spent way too much money on jewelry. OMG. I spotted this pair of earrings on Saturday, and just thought they were so adorable, and kept thinking about them, but they were a little over a hundred dollars and seemed so frivolous. So this morning I was back there and had picked out a pair of amethyst studs that I wanted and a pair of oxidized topaz studs to go with a pendant I already owned, cheaper and more practical purchases. But I had to try on the frivolous earrings and kept looking at them and finally the artist said that if I bought all three pairs, she wouldn't charge me any tax, and, well, I succumbed. Aaargh. But they are so cute and look nice with my hair! ExpandWanna see? )

Anyway. I'm not allowed to buy clothes for a little while. Unless it matches my earrings. ;)

Came home and watched Rock of Love and Scott Baio. ExpandSome thoughts on both. )

Since Scott Baio and My Fair Brady are both wrapped up, I'm glad Celebrity Fit Club is back. I wasn't going to watch this season, but: DUNKLEMAN. OMG. Dalton Ross must be so excited. DUNKLEMAN! And Erin Moran! And Willie Aames! How can I miss this? And I'm currently trying to decide about I Know My Kid's a Star, it has train wreck potential.

Speaking of train wrecks, I watched another episode of Gone Country tonight and Bobby Brown got drunk and started talking to his shoes, which were on the seat beside him. "Come on, shoes. Come on! Let's go! Come on, shoes!" Then, later, he got a cheesesteak sandwich and started talking to that as well. "You are the greatest sandwich ever. Do you know that? You are the greatest sandwich." My favorite part was the other stars being surprised by his behavior. They clearly never watched Being Bobby Brown.

NYT has a long and comprehensive article about how the Supreme Court came to favor corporate interests, which was interesting (and depressing) reading.

Oooh, a documentary about Jay McCarroll!! That is VERY EXCITING. [livejournal.com profile] intopolitics, it is playing at the Philadelphia Film Festival, you should go. *g*

[livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt has some shirtless Hugh Jackman. Holy crap. Arms alert!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] paleologa! Sorry we didn't get to spend more time together this weekend.
