weird kitty question

So...this morning my kitty has a bald spot above her eye. And I'm wondering if I did it. Because I had just been petting her for a while in bed (our normal good morning mutual affection routine), and I was really rubbing the area between her eyes and ears, you know? And then I lay back down for a while and when I got up again I noticed the bald spot. All of the hair between her eyes and ears is quite thin, thinner than it used to be, and now there's just a small bald spot too.

Can this be caused just from a combination of me petting her there all the time, and her rubbing her face against stuff all the time, and grooming, and scratching her ear, etc? Plus old age? A Google search is yielding ringworm as a possible culprit but that doesn't seem right to me. It's only this area above her eyes that is affected and she seems perfectly fine otherwise.

First of all, I just have to say how annoyed I am that the heat is on in my apartment. UGH. It's still hot in here from Monday for crying out loud. Thank god I'm able to turn off the radiator in my bedroom at least.

Second of all, thanks to all of you who commented on my kitty post. It seems that as long as the balding is confined to her eye/ear area, it's probably fine, so I will just keep an eye on things. Now I'm just amusing myself by calling her Baldy. Poor adorable kitty cat.

Third of all, lots of shockers on TV tonight, eh?

In pretty much the coolest news ever, the White House has a Flickr stream. SO COOL. How much do I love this shot? A lot.

I also love this HuffPost entry by Elizabeth Banks about the message behind 17 Again. It's a serious message interspersed with lots of comments about how hot she thinks Zac Efron is. LOL. I was really taken with her engaging writing style.

I'm supposed to be going to a free screening of the new Star Trek movie tomorrow night, so will let y'all know how it is. I have no emotional investment in ST, but I hope it doesn't suck seeing as how I'm going to be, you know, watching it.
