This was my last night of crazy TV watching until the fall, I think, and, you know, thank goodness, because this emotional roller coaster I've been on is very draining!

So, I did most of my OMGWTFing in my previous post, but let's talk some more about the crackosity of AI tonight. So, first of all, let me just say: Yay Taylor! I truly would have been happy with either one of them winning, and I am very very happy for Taylor. His joy and graciousness at the end were a delight. Most of all, I can't believe that he WON. I mean, this is the guy that Simon didn't want to send to Hollywood because he was too much of a freak. Hee hee. AWESOME. I LOVE YOU TAYLOR!

I can't believe Dave Hooper was there. And I loved how they cut to commercial. Wish I'd been a fly on the wall in that control room.

I can't believe they used a Rhonetta impersonator.

I can't believe what a fucking attention whore Mary J. Blige is. Jesus. You're already a superstar, can you give Elliott his time in the limelight, please? Oi.

I can't believe how insane Toni Braxton is. Seriously, I hope we eventually find out what was going on, there.

I can't believe the Brokenote Cowboys performed. Haaaaaaaaa.

I can't believe Clay Aiken's hair. But I laughed and laughed at that guy's reaction. Ryan had to bring him a chair. Ha ha ha.

I can't believe I still think Ace is hot. Those dark jeans omg.

I can't believe Prince showed up! YAY PRINCE. Giving a big old middle finger to all the gossip that he refused to appear on AI. Don't fuck with His Purpleness, okay?

I can't believe David Hasselhoff was crying, and that I got to witness it. Glorious.

Most of the musical performances were pretty bad. The Meat Loaf/Katharine duet was uncomfortable to say the least. The Live performance was good but made Chris look like a poser. Kevin Covais singing "What's New Pussycat" has scarred me FOR LIFE. The "I am woman" number made me lament the state of my gender. Bucky sounded like ass. Taylor did a good job with his song at the end. And I liked Paris with Al Jarreau. I'm guessing most of that audience had no clue who Al Jarreau is.

Loved the Simon montage at the beginning. And the AI Awards intro with Ryan hawking Coke and Ford was pretty great. Overall, though, two of the crackiest hours of my life. Well played, American Idol. Well played.

Going from that to Lost was jarring, to say the least. I say initial thoughts because I'm not sure WHAT I think, yet. I loved that the flashbacks were all about Desmond, and I kept thinking about how happy

corellianjedi would be about that. Where do I know his girlfriend from? It's driving me crazy. Love that the "Elizabeth" is Libby's boat, named after her. Nice. Really liked all the stuff with Desmond and that other dude in the hatch (don't we know him from somewhere else? I'm terrible at placing that sort of thing), especially the working on the invisible map.

And the ABC promos told us we'd find out why the plane crashed on the island, and they were right! How about that. That was fucking awesome, and a great example of why I love this show.

I hope Eko and Locke are okay. I'm assuming they are, as I'm sure the writers know that Eko and Locke are arguably the two most interesting characters on the show. The moment where Locke said "I was wrong" was haunting. Poor Locke. (Also, I love that Locke was wrong, and they really DO need to press the button. Only, I guess not anymore. No more hatch! No more comfy bed and music and showers and ping pong! Woe.)

Freakiest part: that bit of statue. "I'm not sure what's more disquieting: the fact that the rest of the statue is missing, or that it has four toes." I'm going with the four toes, Sayid. LOLOL. Felt like one of those things Damon sticks in there just to fuck with our heads.

Everyone's reaction to Michael's revelation was pretty great. Especially Hurley's. Oh, Hurley. I thought he was going to attack Michael for a minute, but that's not his way, so I'm glad he didn't. Really well-played by all five actors in that scene.

Don't know what to think about the noise/whiteness/etc., but it freaked me out that when it happened a car alarm went off outside my window. LOL.

The entire sequence with the Others was...unsettling. I know people had theorized that Henry Gale was the leader, so good on them for being right. It was fascinating to see him in that position of quiet authority. And barefoot, no less. Dying to know if Michael and Walt will actually get away or if there's something else planned for them. Dying to know what they want with Jack/Kate/Sawyer. And dying to know what that look that passed between Jack and Kate meant. (The shipper in me loved it, but... The shipper in me also loved when he picked her up and kept going. Swoon.) Creepy ending that leaves me wanting more.

And the final ending: so....I'm guessing that Penny hired those guys to try to find Desmond? But how does she know to look for electromagnetic anomalies? I'm missing something, there.

Overall, I loved it, but as it's rare for me to not love this show, that's no surprise.
