After having an awesome weekend I am now in the kind of mood where I just want to curl up in a ball and pull the covers over my head. It's just a bunch of things that would be minorly stressful on their own but put all together means I'm stressed out of my mind. The most pressing at the moment is the Ominous Mouth/Tooth Pain which makes me think that Bad Things will be recommended when I go to the dentist for the first time in three years next weekend. Dammit. Also, wibble.
I'm a bit concerned that on a Monday, aka 24 day, the most mind-blowing television I watched today was General Hospital. HOLY CRAP. Who watched today? MR. CRAIG IS JERRY JACKS? DID I SAY HOLY CRAP ALREADY? That is simultaneously genius and idiotic. Genius because....why the hell not, and idiotic because....Jerry totally knows Nikolas. Right? Jerry was post-Stefan, right, and Nikolas still kind of thought of Bobbie as his stepmother...correct me if I'm wrong. I mean, I guess you could say it now makes sense that he went to Nikolas for all this stuff, but still. I hope there's going to be one hell of an explanation for him turning eeeevil. And having a British accent instead of an Aussie one. ;P It's so funny, because I really thought "I'm already on my second face" was going to be a throwaway line, one I liked a lot, and then.....HOLY CRAP.
Meanwhile, 24 bored the crap out of me tonight. (I'm saying crap a lot in this post, apparently.) Except for.... . Bill and Karen and their Angst of Doing What's Best for the Administration. Oh, Bill. Poor poor Bill. Sniffle. And the ending was cool with downed helicopters and crazy Audrey and everything, but that doesn't make up for the snorefest that was the preceding 50 minutes. Meh.
Drive was pretty good, I'm mostly amused that the Jump Start is totally the Fast Forward from TAR, ha. You cannot tell me these writers are not Amazing Race fans, because I will not believe you. And after realizing that Lindsay Lohan Lite is in the credits but not Dylan Baker, Man of Awesomeness, I am very very scared. Waaah.
I strongly recommend checking out
cesperanza's Fanmark: The Fandom Hallmark Store post, as it is HIGHlarious.
Very cool 'map' of the blogosphere, with LiveJournal represented. Represented as a bunch of freaks, but still, represented. *g*
croberson linked to this amusing "trailer" for The SuperDuper Friends. Warning, completely Democratically partisan humor.
Cool article about changing the lighting system for the top of the Empire State Building.
I was on YouTube and discovered that someone uploaded the BSG panel I saw at NY Comic Con with James Callis and Tricia Helfer that was moderated by Kevin Smith. So worth watching for the Kevin Smith hilarity. Part one is here.
Have some cash to burn? How about a 24-carat gold-plated iPod? Or, you know, not.

Date: 2007-04-24 03:54 am (UTC)LOL! That was awesome, thanks.
And yeah, he's Jerry with a new face. And a new accent. And a new evil personality. I don't get it either.

Date: 2007-04-24 03:44 am (UTC)I'm afraid I'm just seeing the idiotic part. Not only does he know Nikolas, but he knew (and liked!) Robin and Alexis, and yet they want us to believe Jerry shot Robin in a cold, sadistic way? And he loved Bobbie, so we're supposed to believe he would torture her daughter? Jerry was irresponsible, kinda shady, and prone to bad judgement, but he wasn't a sociopath. This is about the dumbest thing the poo-flinging monkeys have come up with yet.

Date: 2007-04-24 03:58 am (UTC)Although interestingly, this guy is much more like how I used to picture Jerry before Julian Stone came along. (And I liked Julian Stone.)
It could have been worse -- he could have been related to Sonny. *g*

Date: 2007-04-24 04:00 am (UTC)Jerry Jacks did all that? I loved Jerry Jacks who was charming and just this side of corrupt. I can't see him doing all that bad stuff they had him doing in the promos. ABC Daytime - assassinating your favorite characters, one program at a time.
Take Care

Date: 2007-04-24 04:39 am (UTC)The blogosphere map is neat, but the sentence "The brightest light belongs to syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin" makes me feel a little bit dead inside.
That greeting card thread, though, is TREMENDOUS. Thanks for linking. There should be one for "Best of luck in the upcoming May Sweeps!" Or, "Thinking of you... You've waited for seasons / Most patiently / You've jumped up and down / With deafening squee / But now it's May Sweeps / And I'm sorry to see / The producers have killed / Your OTP."
