it's gonna be a long week

Not much to say, actually. I liked how we didn't go to the White House until around the 25-minute mark. Karen Hayes is a saint for not laughing in Powers Boothe's face. I was LOL at Tom during the sex spying. I'm waiting for Marilyn's big line: "You have to find him, Jack. HE'S YOUR SON!" Dun-dun-dun! Every week I wish I liked the chick who plays Nadia a little bit better. And while it was nice to see her whaling on that guy, I also didn't buy it for a second. Sydney Bristow she ain't. I did love when Jack wanted to go below CTU and Nadia was like "You're still under arrest" and he was like, "Bitch, please." Heh. And I thought Subarov had a nice "gotcha" moment, revealing he knew they'd planted evidence for his spy. Two more hours to go! And then hopefully next season will be better. Sigh.
The end of Desperate Housewives with Lynette and Tom got me all misty-eyed, dammit. Also, Carlos is hot in a suit.
Kimberley Locke is joining forces with Clothes Off Our Back to do an American Idol auction. Kimberley Locke and Bradley Whitford, that's quite the odd fandom collision for me. Plus, there will probably actually be clothes that normal people can fit into, so that's something.
Go Fug Yourself noted that one of the Borat screenwriters is going to write a comedy about the Eurovision song contest. That's so beautiful.
You really must check out this YouTube link showing a territorial turtle terrorizing a cat. Do what I do and imagine the "Jaws" theme running in the background.
The Daily News has a poll (which, granted, probably means it's the most unscientific poll ever, except maybe for any poll the Post runs) which shows that New Yorkers prefer Bloomberg over Giuliani in any matchup, mayoral or presidential. Which will surprise no one who actually lives here. There's this myth outside of NY that all New Yorkers were enamored with Rudy, when the truth is most of us were well and truly sick of him, his personal antics and his dictatorial tantrums by the end.
West Wing fans: I really enjoyed this drabble posted to
tww100 today, check it out.
I feel like I should say something about Studio 60 officially being canceled, but I don't know what there is to say. I've been going through a slow and gradual grieving process for weeks, so to have it confirmed is just that last exhale. I will miss it, but not terribly. What I will really miss is having Bradley on my TV screen, and, as
crossmymind has noted, I will miss Bradley/Matt Perry offscreen cuteness. But the show never caught on and it's just too expensive to make and that's the way the cookie crumbled, this time. At least Brad will now presumably stop dying his hair blonde, so that's a silver lining. In the meantime I will watch the last few episodes, and then say good night.
Happy Birthday to

Date: 2007-05-15 12:23 pm (UTC)Yes, I feel the same. I think I've been trying so hard to find something to fill the gap left by WW, that I'm still mourning for that as well! God, I'm such a saddo...
But yes, the not-blondeness will be a definite plus!
And Jaws - bwah!

Date: 2007-05-15 12:33 pm (UTC)When you find that, let me know, ok? My other shows are love, but they're a much more shallow love, and I miss the deep intense love I had with WW. ;)

Date: 2007-05-15 02:00 pm (UTC)Sadly the memory thing is toast - but luckily it was only about two pages that I lost. I just hate having to re-do stuff... *sulks*
*waves to Dia* - thanks for not throwing us out. Yet. :)

Date: 2007-05-15 12:31 pm (UTC)Yes. Sniffle. It was bad enough not seeing Janel on my screen and now not Brad either or the dynamic duo of Brad AND Matt. Wah.
But S60 itself? Eh. I knew it was just a passing crush when I didn't miss it these past few months.
