For the first time since it became, like, part of the Patriot Act, I purchased REAL Sudafed today, because my ears are still clogged and I am in dire need of decongestant that actually, you know, WORKS. Man, is that some crazy shit or what? They scanned my driver's license and I had to sign something. I just want to be decongested, SERIOUSLY. Good grief.

My Overheard went up today! Woo hoo! Yes, I really did overhear that on the subway.

The Creation Museum is now open, featuring dioramas of people cavorting with dinosaurs. I can't even add to that, really.

I thought that was an enjoyable ep, but not a great one, largely because of the Harriet stuff, which was not only annoying, but bizarre, considering she and Matt had supposedly broken up For Good in the last episode; and the Simon stuff, which was just so...predictable. Last night I also watched the series finale of The King of Queens and that was LESS predictable, is all I'm saying. And the lack of Matt and Danny was palpable for me; just lacked a certain energy that way.

It's so sad that I was like, why are they not in it, and then suddenly realized -- it was to save money. The three biggest salaries on the show not in an episode to keep costs down. How depressing.

Anyway, thank god for Allison Janney and Timothy Busfield, eh? Seeing them together was SO WEIRD but also so awesome and wonderful. Also, nice reminder that Allison completely pwns comedy, hadn't gotten to see that on WW in the end except when Bradley was writing her. I loved her interactions with Tom and, clearly, loved the stuff with Cal. So that was all good.

Also all good was JACK, oh, Jack, my love for you is so new and fresh and soon you will be gone from me forever. Favorite line: "The FBI's open on Friday." It was all in the delivery, which clearly I cannot convey here, but I was repeating it to myself for the rest of the night. Also, he was pretty drunk. Heh.

Anyway, watching this show reminded me that I do like it and I am kind of sad it's leaving...but, still, not devastated. So that's something, considering I still haven't emotionally recovered from the GG finale.

I cannot stop thinking about the Lost finale, as I'm sure many of you are experiencing as well, and now Damon has given an interview (to Kristin, ugh) and he's not spilling anything. Bastard! Where's my Ron Moore style I-will-tell-you-more-than-you-even-wanted-to-know spillage? Grrrr. Interview is still worth checking out, though. Not surprisingly, I keep coming back to Jack and Kate and it's making me want to read some dirty dirty fanfic, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

By the way, did anyone think "I Saw Her Standing There" in the Idol finale was....well, weird? To have a 25 year old singing flirtatiously to a 17 year old was a bit strange. Hmmm. Also, both Jordin and Blake's "EPs" are on iTunes, except you can also buy them on the Idol site, and why you'd want to get the iTunes format instead of good old MP3s I have no idea.

Also by the way, apparently I'm not the only one who thought Clive Davis was taking a swipe at Kelly during the finale.

I keep forgetting to rant about the fact that Scott Clifton is leaving GH. I am very very sad about this, to the point that I may give up watching again. It's typical GH, taking a talented actor and....completely wasting him. And they keep doing it and doing it and doing it and don't even care. WE HATES THEM. I mean, good for Scott for electing not to re-sign, considering he got shunted to the side for Spinelli, for chrissakes. Spinelli is great and all, but it's not like he's going to be the big teen romance of the summer or anything. Oy. Also: waaaah.

Today is Star Wars' birthday! Awwww. It's not an exaggeration to say that movie had a huge influence on who I am as a person today. (So now you know who to blame, ha.) And yes, I did see it in the theater when it first came out, you whippersnappers. Granted, my parents went to see it first to make sure it would be OK for my very young eyes, but hey.

The History Channel is running some kind of Star Wars special Monday night. I'm sure it will be a lot of recycled stuff, but I'll have to try to remember to check it out.

Apparently they're making a movie of The Sims. I don't even get that.

My favourite Jack part was the little sing-song telling Cal that the call came from inside the building. And, of course, the look on Cal's face in response.

Their interactions were priceless tonight.

LOFL!

Umm, perhaps the icon choice would have made more sense if I had better aim. I meant to use this one.

You must have been extremely young then!

(I was 14. Yes. I'm a dinosaur.)

It was wonderful to be reminded of just what a fabulous comedienne Allison Janney is. Sorkin or whoever it was that made the decision to bring her in for the Brad/Matt-less ep deserves credit for that at least.

The FBI's open on Friday... yeah. Jack rocks.

I was four and a half, yes. :D I distinctly remember coming home and playing in my kiddie pool, pretending I was on the Death Star as it was about to blow up. (Apparently I was always morbid, ha.)

What I don't understand is the fact that Brad and Matt were in pictures for the episode, so it doesn't make sense that their lack of being shown on screen was to save money. If they already filmed the scenes, weren't they paid for it? It just seems like cutting their scenes after they were already filmed defeats the purpose. I have no idea how it works, so I could be wrong.

But of course, those pictures could be from a different episode entirely. Who knows. I just missed my boys.

Yeah, I broke out my Star Wars DVDs last night. Indeed, I am that suggestible.

My sister Joan saw it on a date and lobbied my parents to let her take me. The first time I saw it in the theater we missed the first couple of minutes and it was still great.

Star Wars was the first movie I saw twice in the theaters--my parents were going out of town on vacation, so my dad took us before they left, and the next day we went with the the family we were staying with. (The only movie I can think of that I've seen more than once on the big screen is Buckaroo Banzai. My friend Dottie and I kinda obsessed over it for a while.)

[livejournal.com profile] kirbyfest and I briefly contemplated the notion of a road trip out there to see it, but decided that we'd be tossed out for hysterical laughter after a couple of minutes. And then what would we do? :)
