Had a fun time this weekend in Virginia celebrating [livejournal.com profile] harpinred's birthday and seeing the peeps. On Saturday [livejournal.com profile] chanel19 took me and [livejournal.com profile] oeilade to the mall where there were some mad sales going on. I got a pair of pants and a top at Esprit, a pair of pants at Old Navy, and three tops at New York & Company. Total: approx. $90. Woo hoo! Also, no more buying clothes for me for a while. [livejournal.com profile] bbennett reminded me that there is a Coach outlet in Leesburg, but I will wait for the Outer Banks in August and spend there. :)

Saturday night the gang went to see Cirque du Soleil while I...did not. I'm sure that shocks you. Instead [livejournal.com profile] nnaylime was kind enough to make the trip into DC to hang out with me while the show was going on. She unfortunately had some traumatic public bathroom experiences, but hopefully had a good time otherwise. It was very good to see her. And she had Princess Leia and Barbie Christmas ornaments for me, which was so exciting! She knows what I like. ;)

Another highlight of the weekend was the Great Breakfast Showdown: Original Pancake House vs. IHOP. I declared IHOP the winner even if [livejournal.com profile] divanoir did insist OPH's bacon was better. There were many other factors that needed to be taken into account, including pancake consistency and egg yolk color. It's serious business!

Yesterday I played Wii for the first time and beat [livejournal.com profile] md1016 at tennis. Then [livejournal.com profile] flamingcarrot drove me and [livejournal.com profile] oeilade to the bus station. We unfortunately didn't get on the bus we wanted because there were so many people, and then we hit some horrible traffic in New Jersey (surprise). The driver responded to this by pulling into a rest stop and announcing we would be taking a "10 to 15-minute break." He even said to please be considerate of our fellow passengers and not take too long.

How long were we at the rest stop? Yeah, half an hour. One of the last people back on the bus? Yeah, the bus driver. I was very crabby and punchy and losing my mind at this point, and was very very close to going into the bus stop and finding him myself. I even suggested having him paged, which would have been hilarious. Once we started up again [livejournal.com profile] oeilade and I decided to watch some BSG on her laptop, as Jamie Bamber soothes the savage beast. Finally got home a little after 9 PM, when I'd been hoping to be home by 7:30. Grrrr.

I never commented on last week's Studio 60 (did I?) -- I liked it a lot, and the line about leading the police on a high speed chase goes down as one of the funniest lines ever on the show. Simon/Jack scenes are love. Matt trying to kiss Harriet was hot. And Bradley rocks a white dress shirt like nobody's business. I'm sad there's only one episode left. And yes, it's called "What Kind of Day Has It Been." Oh, Aaron. *pets*

Watched "The Sauce" on Fuse today because Kelly was on, and imagine my surprise that one of the Fuse hosts now is AI finalist Jared Cotter. He was quite poised, so good for him. As part of the show Kelly performed her next single, "Sober," and I'm not sure how it's going to go over. I like it, but it doesn't have much of a hook, so....hmm.

Speaking of which, do I have to actually go and buy Kelly's CD in a store for it to do any good? That's Billboard, right, which for some reason seems to be what the industry still cares about. There was all this shit about how "Never Again" did on Billboard, when it hasn't left the iTunes top 10 since it was released. People still give a crap about Billboard? Oy.

Oh, and they showed a video for the remix of Avril Lavigne's remix featuring Lil' Mama. That shit is hot.

Say hi to Mr. President 26 Percent. Wow.

Here's a picture of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones on the set of the new movie. I'm not sure what to think, really. Mostly I'm just amused that the photo credit is Steven Spielberg.

Have a meeting tomorrow that I am dreading, mainly because the person I'm meeting with told me upfront he plans for it take an hour and a half. My boss has offered to save me after 30 minutes, but I don't know that I can do that. Ugh, this is not going to be fun. Wibble.

How awesome is Lil Mama's Lipgloss song? I know that I will be SODAMNANNOYED with it in precisely 4 minutes, but for now, it rocks my world.

As gleeful as I am to see Bush get his 'comeuppance' via approval ratings, it just depresses me as too little too late on the part of the American public. I mean, what difference does it really make? He's pulled back on his agenda a bit, but it's pretty much all still pushing forward, and it ALL SUCKS. The damage has been done, and NOW america is like, OMGWTFBBQ? Nation, you disappoint me.

Okay, Harrison Ford looks like Grampa Joe sitting on the porch, drinking some lemonade that Ma made him after chores. Just... not very adventuresome. I vote we make Daniel Jackson the new Indiana Jones!

I'm going to see Cirque de Soleil on my birthday because my sister bought tickets. Should I bring a book or something?

PS: Hi!

That depends are you going to see a regular Cirque show or Delirium? If you're going to see a regular show, you won't need the book as long as you're into yoga fueled acrobatics. If you're going to see Delirium then it depends on how you feel about LSD fueled nightmares.

And, Dia, I'm so glad you gave the Great Breakfast Showdown the careful consideration that a contest of that magnitude deserves. Thank goodness IHOP won. I mean, as the IHOP Princess, their success is my success.

I've only heard the portion of Lipgloss that you can hear on iTunes, and I am undecided. It may be her charms only work on me when she's paired with Avril.

I admit that my very first reaction to seeing the Harrison pic was, well, to recoil. This does not bode well.

And follow [livejournal.com profile] chanel19's advice re: Cirque. Sounds like their regular shows are a bit more engaging than the one they saw.

And HI!!!

I'm very sad that S60 is ending, and also annoyed that Hey Paula premieres at the exact same time, lol. Ah well, at least Bravo shows everything 42,000 times. :P

You know what disturbs be about that Newsweek poll? The 6% of people who 'don't know' how they feel about the President. I know its only 6%, but seriously, get your head out of your ass and form an opinion.

I love that photo of Harrison Ford. I don't know why. Now, if I could just get him into that Han Solo outfit again...

I'm a geek. I'm totally okay with it. :P

I NEVER understand the "I don't know" people. Form a fucking opinion. Ugh.

Mmmm, Han Solo.

Great Breakfast Showdown: Original Pancake House vs. IHOP

I think I will need to re-enact this battle in order to verify the accuracy of your results.

Ok, actually I just really really want pancakes!
