Weekend was okay. The spa visit with my mom was eh, the massage was superficial and the $18 manicure was not nearly as good as the $7 ghetto manicure I get at home. Whatevs. My mom had a good time, though, and since it was her birthday present, that was the important thing. Then my nephew literally jumped up and down when he saw me, because he was so excited. Of course, he also does that for chicken nuggets, so I'm trying to stay humble.

I so meant to take a picture of this, but -- on my bed were the same Star Wars sheets we've had since 1977. Boy, are they soft at this point. Hee. But what was so funny was that apparently they recently got an Empire Strikes Back pillowcase somewhere to go with them. Hilarious because we didn't have the ESB sheets growing up, we had the SW ones and the ROTJ ones but not ESB, which always made me sad. So I don't know if they got it at a garage sale or what, I forgot to ask. Too funny.

The Charm School reunion was off the hook, eh? I'm so glad Saaphyri took that money she needed for rent and got some plastic surgery done. She did, right? Something was definitely different, and it wasn't just her hair. And did Becky get her boobs done or what? They weren't that big in the flashbacks. And seeing Mo'Nique lose her shit was entertaining. And I love how for all her bravado bullshit, whenever someone in authority yells at Boots she always looks like she's about to cry. Although Mama Boots was right that Mo didn't really teach the women much of anything at all. (Boots, Smiley and Brooke least of all, apparently.) And I was laughing so hard at VH1 giving Leilene "please don't strip" money. Ha. Brooke looked SO pissed at that. Heh.

I had been considering going to a free old school rap concert tonight in Brooklyn. I knew it was in a bad area, but was thinking about it anyway. Then woke up to the news that last night two police officers were shot by guys in a stolen SUV 8 blocks from the subway stop I'd have to use. Um, NEVER MIND. Sigh.

Great NYT editorial about the real activist judges.

And another in which Damon Lindelof shares his wish for how Harry Potter will end.

And a funny article for tourists about navigating the NYC subway.

NYC has highest ratio of single women to single men. (Cool map at the link.) I can't wait to send it to my mother. Ha.

The San Diego Comic Con programming schedule is up, and Jamie Bamber is not on it. Alas. It pisses me off considering he's doing every little pissant con that comes down the pike this year, but not, you know, the largest one in existence. But Katee Sackhoff will be there, and Mary McDonnell and Tricia Helfer. They're trying to spin it as a "Women of Galactica" panel which makes me laugh, as you know they only came up with that after they figured out who was able to attend. Also, the BSG panel overlaps with the Supernatural panel, which both Jensen and Jared will be attending. What genius came up with that? There's a half-hour left on the SPN panel after the BSG one ends, so I think I will leave BSG a little early and sneak out to the SPN one. My relationship with SPN is casual at best, but hello, those are some pretty pretty boys and they're probably even prettier in person. And with Jamie not being there and my being unable to attend the Torchwood panel, I gotta get my boy quotient in somehow!

Also, no Lost cast members, apparently. Just Damon and Carlton. Whatevs.

My stepmother still uses my old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sheets in her guest bed, halfway across the country.

Also, you need to sign-up and play at worldofpop.com with the VH1 contest. You could win 2,500 easy money, knowing you. Or at least place really well, and it's worth the chance. :)

I have a feeling the same corporate-relative stuff would count me out of the online thing as well, but I will check it out. :)

I am hopeful that they just haven't confirmed any Lost cast members yet, since they switched from Saturday at the last minute. Hopefully, they'll get a couple of people in. Of course, 90% of the questions at the Lost panels always go to Damon and Carlton anyway.

Also. (http://thebosh.com/archives/2007/07/heidi_spencer_the_new_newlyweds.php) :|

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if Damon & Carlton had someone tagging along. Like Bernard. Hee.

And...as for that link....WTF? Although it sounds like H&S *want* to do the show, not that it's actually happening. I'll try to find out.

Imagine if Spencer narrated The Hills

I'm sure you do, Spencer, every night in bed. Loser.

Yanno, that's the one thing about the Comicon that makes me twitch uncontrollably. All the geeking opportunities that will never be! *flail*

Would you be willing to pass Jensen and Jared coupons for free t-shirts? You know, so they'd come to my booth and I could die from the resulting fangasms? *g*

Pretty boys indeed.

(oh, and are you going to WFC this year? Because it looks like I'm going -- as an attendee! *boggles*)

Tell me about it. I am going to the BSG one come hell or high water, but I don't know that I'll be able to make the Lost one happen. And no Torchwood or other fun stuff. Grrrr.

I doubt I'd be able to get close enough to Jensen and Jared, but I like the way you think. ;)

And yes, I will be at WFC. That is awesome that you are going! We will definitely hook up.

Clearly we must go to DragonCon.

Do you like my use of "we" there? *g*

Don't think I'm not considering it. Although I have to assume hotel rooms are all booked up by now, aren't they?

That's some genius work right there. I mean, I'm sure it's impossible to schedule to please everyone, but still. I can't believe I'm missing Jared and Jensen. Booooo.
