you take the good you take the bad

After Prison Break sending me into rage and sadness, boy, did I need I Love New York 2. SO. AWESOME. OMG. Because, you know, there are many ways to pick up a woman, or try to get into her good graces early on in the reality show experience, but it takes a real man to just simply say, "I have a big dick." Wow. WOW. I salute you, Wolf, for....well, for something.
"I'm not shaking that guy's hand because my third eye tells me he's a pervert, and my third eye is never wrong."
"Now I'm a little horny, so me laughing is like, unh, pushing it out."
"He's definitely like a little leprechaun. And I did have my fears. I don't know if he has magical powers, and he could shrink me down. I don't know what's going on with Midget Mac."
"My third leg's longer than my second leg."
"I'm full of everything you want me to be, except shit." Now there's a ringing endorsement.
And Chance is coming back! CHANCE!!!!! WOO HOO!! OMG this season is going to be so fantastic. I can't wait.
And then I came online to see the BSG season four promo and GAH, SO AWESOME. SO AWESOME. LEE AND KARA TOTALLY HUGGED OMG. I swear, that's all I even care about. They can not speak to each other for the next ten episodes and I don't care, I got that fucking hug. YES. Although, my obsessive rewatching makes me note that the look on her face when she hugs him is not exactly unabashed joy. I shall not dwell on that. Also, Baltar OMG HEEEEEEE. And Roslin firing a gun and Anders talking to Kara about her being a Cylon and Adama being all WTF with Saul and Kara on the ground screaming and did I mention the awesome?????? I can't believe it's so far away. Sniffle.
I forgot to mention a couple of TV shows in my post last night, that's what happens when you watch so much in one weekend.
Pushing Daisies. This show might be a bit too....too, for me. A bit too twee. The kissing monkeys, and the holding their own hands... Just...too much, for me. But it looks beautiful and Lee Pace is charming, so I'll give it another shot to see what a "regular" episode is like, since I'm sure the pilot was obsessed over and tweaked to death. (And felt that way, IMO.) It's certainly well done, I'm just not sure my bloodsugar levels are up to it. Also, not sure I see the point in getting involved in an UST relationship where there is no chance of them ever even touching. I get enough of that masochistic shit elsewhere.
Doctor Who. Watched the finale, and...well, this was one of those times where I had to remind myself that it's considered more of a kiddie show in the UK (it is, right?). But the revelation about Jack made up for a LOT. A LOT. So cool. However now that I've found out who the companion is next season, I really can't imagine I'll be tuning in, unless Jack comes back or something. Then again, that's what I said about season three, so who knows. The fact is there is a reason I watch very little SF TV and episodes like that reminded me why.
The NYT blogged about the latest Michelin ratings, and New Yorkers being New Yorkers the post has a million comments of people sharing their restaurant opinions. But this was by far my favorite:
Does the Michelin Guide tell me which restaurants have all the cooking done by anthropomorphic rats? That's really all that matters to me.

I have yet more icky medical stuff happening tomorrow, so if you could spare me a good thought I'd appreciate it. This is really not my year.

Date: 2007-10-09 03:59 am (UTC)The BSG promo is just way too much awesome for me to handle. (And especially considering every other show I watch is currently turning its female cast into maimed and dead girlfriends while the suits are playing victim in the press... I am lustful for new BSG and some kick-ass female characters now more than ever, COUGH COUGH LOL NOT BITTER.) That final moment... gaaaaaaah, my tummy did a little flop and my hands went grabby-grab. *sigh*
And I didn't mind the finale of Doctor Who, but then again after Eccleston and Piper both left, I haven't been invested. I liked the S3 finale and hated The Satan Pit, so clearly I am evil, or something. :P

Date: 2007-10-09 05:19 pm (UTC)And I wouldn't say I minded the DW finale. I did like quite a bit. But, similarly to you, once Billie left my emotional investment did as well.
And I've ALWAYS thought that you're evil, but in the very best way. ;)

Date: 2007-10-09 04:44 am (UTC)I really agree about Pushing Daisies. I liked the looks but the monkeys and handholding were exactly the things that made me have little moments of ugh. I have worries about its longevity as a series, and think it'll probably get old pretty fast, but who knows.

That is awesome.
Sorry about the icky medical stuff...I hope it goes well/is as un-icky as possible.

Date: 2007-10-09 05:31 am (UTC)I love Pushing Daisies, personally... but I can see where the saccharin levels might be a bit strong...and I openly admit that I have a huge thing for Lee Pace! :)
The Doctor Who finale was up and down, but I, too enjoyed the revelation about Jack. I plan to keep watching, and just hope the new companion does not make things annoying.

Date: 2007-10-09 11:45 am (UTC)So true!
As for the rest of season three...well, I wanted to like it, and sometimes I did. I mean, I always enjoy David Tennant, but you know me. I mainly watched the season for Rose!memories. The Jack eps were a lovely little bonus, though.

Date: 2007-10-09 09:39 pm (UTC)Yeah it was very schmultzy in the extreme. But I loved the way it just oozed of a 1950 MGM musical. The colour palette for this show is just awesome... The best bit for me in the pilot though, HAD to be seeing Olive Snook and Ned standing next to each other :D (sudden Annabeth/CJ flashbacks)
Also I find it hard to dislike a show that has Jim Dale as the narrator :D
