Beauty and the Geek was SO FUNNY last night, you guys. They had to create their own comic book characters and they actually had to present them at San Diego Comic Con. They filmed them walking the exhibit hall floor and everything. At one point they were talking to Javier Grillo-Marxuach from Lost about his Middleman comic and they totally didn't even say who he was. And one of the geeks actually CRIED as the van approach the convention center. OMG so funny. I wish I had known about that when I was there, I totally would have tried to find them on the floor. Oh well.
I was extremely disappointed that Aaron Douglas was only in last night's Reaper for approximately 60 seconds. What a ripoff. I'm a little surprised he even signed up for that. Is he friends with the casting director or something?
Wow, that's the first time anyone actually quit, isn't it? Whatever with Tyra and her self-righteousness. If the girl decides she doesn't want to be a model, then that's her choice. She tried it and didn't like it. Whatever. Also, Heather continues to freak me out with how gorgeous she is, gah. I was also laughing at her winning the Carol's Daughter contest, since Carol's Daughter is aimed firmly at African Americans and is not going to use a white chick in an ad for them. Loved Mary J. Blige's visible double take when she saw her. Too funny. But they're a Brooklyn-based company, so I have love for them.
Was that CariDee on Gossip Girl tonight, or a reasonable facsimile? I LOVE THIS SHOW A LOT. Dan and Serena make me a giggly fangirl, and I just love the drama of it all. I loved the ridiculous dresses and the masks and Eleanor's stupid Morroccan party. I loved Lily's hair. I loved Dan and Jenny at the end with their little door between their rooms. I wasn't that crazy about Vanessa, though, the actress kind of bugged me. Oh well, you can't have them all. Also, Nate's dad = DOUCHE. Is there anything lamer than letting your kid take the rap for something you did? So horrible. Poor stupid Nate. So sad that it's not on next week! Sob.
I LOVE THIS SHOW A LOT TOO. Jeremy putting on a suit to tell his father he wants a job, oh, heart. And I'm so happy that whatshername turned out to be a bitch, because man, did I hate that storyline. Having a party on the Brooklyn Bridge however is the most awesome thing ever.
Loved the shot of Brian and Brian Jr. sitting in the bunk beds and look forward to it being available as an icon. It was really cool to see him so upset about losing his family, since the character is often so over the top comic. He really does have a heart, awww. Also: "We could open up the sixth floor," LOL.
So -- the beginning of the ep with Tripp pointing out how different the twins were made me think that the twins were Dutch's, but then later he rolled his eyes when Karen talked about family or whatever, and clearly the show is just trying to dick us around as much as possible. *shakes fist*
I love Blair Underwood and Simon Elder is a cool character. So interesting that Dutch was changing his ways -- assuming Simon is telling the truth, which I'm not convinced he is.
And I also loved Jeremy's half-nekkid karaoke, but that should go without saying. *g*
Also watched Monday night's Chuck. You know, the problem with that show is that Morgan is not funny and Ellie is not interesting. So I have no interest in Chuck's home life, just want to see him do silly spy stuff. If it's all Morgan with no Chuck in sight I just FF. So not funny. Sigh. But Chuck is cuuuuute, so I'm still hanging around for the moment.
Also, General Hospital broke my brain today, and if you watched, you probably know why. Oh, and
callmesandy alerted me to an AWESOME spoiler, which is technically rumor, but please let it be true: EMILY IS GOING TO GET MURDERED. WOO HOO!!!!! YAYZ. Although, doing that to Monica is kind of fucked up. Not sure how she could handle losing both Alan and Emily. Maybe this is all part of their plan to finally get Leslie Charleson off the show.

Darth Vader in Love. Thanks to
croberson for this one.
Java Twix coming and it sounds AMAZING. Thanks to
paleologa for that one.
Excellent Bob Herbert editorial about health care. Also heartbreaking. “You shouldn’t have to go live in a tent somewhere just because you don’t have insurance.”
James Lipton was a pimp in France. Again, people, I can't make this stuff up.
Oh, Times Square, where strippers meet Mary Poppins.
It goes without saying that I can't even wrap my mind around what's happening in California. So awful. And to think that two of the fires are arson... I have no words. My thoughts are with all of you in the region. Keep safe.

Oh, me too. I think Brian is hilarious and the writers give him all the best one-liners, but I really like seeing him as an actual person in this episode. He's fast becoming one of my favorite darlings (as if anyone could actually choose).
