Defensive iPodding: I have now reached the point where, when some douchebag sits next to me on the subway blasting his iPod so loud it's as if I'm wearing it, not him, I put on my own iPod and blast Denis Leary's "Asshole." I take some small satisfaction in that.

Speaking of assholes... Exxon Mobil is trying to get out of paying any more fines for the Exxon Valdez spill, which is still affecting the environment lo these many years later.

On the plus side, Reaper was so cute tonight! Patton Oswalt makes me laugh. And Chuck was pretty cute last night, too. "They're calling for the worm!" I didn't hate Morgan for once, it was nice. The Hills -- all I have to say about that episode is, I could NOT get past the fact that Whitney was wearing a strapless dress to a big meeting in NYC. OMG. Of COURSE Amy Astley mentioned it to Lisa! Did you see anyone else at that table wearing strapless? I was surprised the one girl was wearing a (fairly modest) tanktop. Everyone else was wearing (stylish) business attire. It's NEW YORK. So. Funny.

Bummed I was never able to find someone to go to The B-52's tomorrow with me -- not really the kind of show I want to go to alone. I think I will get my nails done and go home instead. Party on without me, Fred!

It's just because not a single one of the writers at Maxim would have a shot in hell at getting Parker in bed, but they pay off Alba all the time.

Maxim may be one of the most widely unread, but looked at, magazines. I doubt any of their subscribers or purchasers even made it to the second sentence. I have anecdotal evidence. At work people leave the newspaper, magazines like Maxim and training articles all around the bunk-rooms and the bathroom. We talk about the sports, the news and the training but I have yet to hear, "Hey! Did you read that story in Maxim?" It is usually, "The Redskins suck!", "Did you read about the car wreck?" or "Look at this drill."

Wow. Just. Wow. Like you, I don't find SJP particularly sexy, but to actually make a ranked list is a brand of tasteless I can't find amusing.

And I think it's a little odd how "cold bedside manner" and "boyish figure" landed Sandra Oh in the least sexy category. Isn't "cold bedside manner" a character trait of the character she plays on tv? And while I can't say she doesn't have a "boyish figure," how many other female celebrities are there out there who have figures equally lacking in curves. I would say that Oh's figure has more to do with her body type than her eating habits (though of course I don't know) than a number of other female celebs who border on the "too thin to be healthy" look.

That stupid article just sort of pissed me off. :(

You're so right about Whitney's dress - girl tries so hard and she is just not quite getting it. I thought Lauren's dress was lovely and appropriate though.

Aw, the B-52's are so fun. I would also go with you if I lived closer. I saw them when I was 16 - the Violent Femmes opened. Good times.
