I'm sure most of my f-list will disagree, but I was ALL OVER that cover of "Hello." OMG, must get a copy. And it's so funny b/c I just heard that song while out at dinner last night. Hee. Also really loved "Don't You Forget About Me" as done by Michael, but was amused that Randy apparently thought it was by INXS. As for the rest, I was mostly like, of all the awesome songs in the 80s, these are the ones you picked? Especially, um, two guys picking songs sung by chicks? The hell? Do we need to go through how many TOTALLY AWESOME songs were sung by men in the 80s? Geesh. Kids today.
It's tough to say who will go since it will probably depend on how much people care that David Hernandez used to be a gay stripper. Ha.
That was overall pretty damn good! I confess I totally got teary-eyed from the scene in the park, enough that I was able to ignore the "OMG hello time paradox!" scream in my head. And I join with the rest of my f-list in pondering, with wonder and more than a tiny bit of horror, the prospect of finding Brian Austin Green, um, really fucking hot. The hell? David Silver??? *shakes head* What is the world coming to? And, so, did the Terminator dude not kill FBI agent dude at the end because he knew FBI guy had the file he was going to need later? Or was it something else I'm not getting?
I guess I do hope this show comes back, although I'd love for it to be a summer show or something, when not too much is on.
Didn't watch New Amsterdam as I don't have room for another drama in my life, but am curious as to what people thought since that guy is hot.
Also I feel the need to share that the dramatic climax of this week's Flavor of Love revolved around the reading of a medical file that would determine once and for all whether one of the women had herpes on her lips. Or, as many of the other contestants insisted on calling it, "a herpe." Bet you didn't know there was a singular form of that word.
Cute column: Gary David Goldberg of Family Ties fame ponders whether Alex P. Keaton would be a Republican today.
NYT has a slide show of art inspired by migraines here. The first one really struck me like a punch in the gut; it is so much what I see when I get ocular migraines. (I originally typed "oracular migraines" -- now that would be the kind of headache I might not mind so much!)
Cool interview with George Carlin.
Bush says he lets red phone go to voicemail.
The 20 Worst Foods in America. All chain restaurants, so it doesn't really apply to me, heh.

Oh yeah, and there was some sort of election today. *g* All I really have to say is that I think the Texan primary/caucus system is the stupidest fucking thing ever. I join Jeffrey Toobin in saying "And quite frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves." Hee. Speaking of Texas, a Texan woman almost shot a reporter standing on her lawn the other day. Allrighty then!
Meanwhile, Bob Herbert reminds us of the cost of war. You know, the one(s) still going on, not that you hear much about it these days. :P
Meanwhile, work is KILLING me, you guys. I feel like I'm drowning. I would really be so much more productive if I could take one work-at-home day a week. I have no idea how I'm going to get done everything I have to get done (may have to bring some work home this weekend). It would be a lot easier if I didn't give a shit about actually doing a good job, you know? I suppose that part is my own fault, huh?
OH, and on the very crowded subway this morning, this big guy sitting next to me almost beat the crap out of this other guy. Got into a whole "are you lookin' at me? I will fuck you up so bad you need EMS" kind of crap. It settled down a bit when my assistant, who I didn't even realize was on the train, yelled at them both to stop. Ha! She rocks. My reaction, on the other hand, was to kind of laugh to myself when the guy was spewing his EMS bullshit, which is why I'm going to get killed one of these days.

Date: 2008-03-05 05:41 am (UTC)I've seen that Worst Food list before, and it made me very thankful that I live in a city where chain restaurants are practically non-existent. Yuck.

That was pretty much my reaction. I can at least fool myself into thinking "regular" restaurants don't put quite as much crap in their meals....

Yes, I am convinced that "regular" restaurants are healthier, dammit! Especially here, where everyone is all about organic and sustainable now.

Date: 2008-03-05 11:02 am (UTC)I am so excited to see my whole flist join me on the 'OMG Brian Austin Green is finally KICKING IT' thing that I've been on for the last few weeks. I've never been a trendsetter before; what comes next? When can I start stealing icons? *g*
I went into work this weekend to get caught up (first time since I took this job) and the relief all week has been worth it. I'm still crazy busy, but I'm no longer running double-time to catch up.

Date: 2008-03-05 01:16 pm (UTC)Also, are people not liking David Cook's cover? I'm usually anti-American Idol (because I get very angry at how unfair it is and get too worked up about reality tv in general), but man, this season I'm hooked. And I looooved that cover. I'm sure iTunes in Canada won't offer it though.

Date: 2008-03-05 01:36 pm (UTC)AI: 80s night without Richard Marx = total B.S. Is Michael the Australian guy who's always on the verge of doing an Eddie Vedder impression? I was a little drunk last night, so maybe that made me belligerent, but think I heaped scorn on the whole lineup.
Then again, I'm kind of a crab and I hate everybody lately. (Except, apparently, Brian Austin Green, and what is up with THAT?)

Date: 2008-03-05 03:43 pm (UTC)Tried New Amsterdam and it wasn't bad, but... I think I'm currently full-up on immortal men and it will probably not go into the tivo line-up.

Also, I'm with you on the OMG Brian Austin Green is sexy? Um, who, what, where, when?
