DSL has been spotty all day, so am posting while I can....Verizon is SUPPOSED to come tomorrow afternoon, although they were supposed to come yesterday afternoon, too, and didn't, so who knows. :P

Went to see Prince Caspian with [livejournal.com profile] girlunravelled last night. Overall I enjoyed it very much, though it is not as good as TLTWATB. Unfortunately, sitting directly behind us were a bunch of brainless ghetto teens, who did not shut up for the entire movie, despite our frequent entreaties with them to shut the hell up. So they pretty much ruined the movie for me, which sucks since I had been looking forward to this film so much for so long. It was a nice reminder of why I don't usually go to the movies on an opening Saturday night. :P I'm tempted to go see it again just so I can really get into it in a way I wasn't able to last night. Sigh. But, a good movie, with some really wonderful moments, and Ben Barnes is not a great actor but he's a definite hottie. I predict the Peter/Caspian slash will be flying after this. *g* I'm so in love with the notion that these four kids have already lived adult lives and are suddenly kids again, with all of their knowledge and memories of being older. Although it annoys me that the screenwriters seem to give all of Peter's smart lines in the book to Lucy. She has to be the one to figure everything out instead, to make it more cinematic I guess. Whatever. I really want to rewatch the first movie now...

This morning I finally watched last week's Gossip Girl, and I am oh so glad I did as it was FABULOUS. Was it not fabulous? The no-judging Breakfast Club? Also: "I'm Chuck Bass." HEEEE. Also also: "Let's go get the bitch." So good and so soapy and I loved it. Very excited for tomorrow night.

However I just realized that I never tracked down last Sunday's Desperate Housewives, so now I can't watch the finale tonight until I do that. Grr.

Gillian gets fugged. And with good reason. Though the rest of her looks great.

So what do we think about this news/rumor that BSG is going to do three original TV movies after the show ends? Part of me is squeeful, but part of me feels that if they're going to take place prior to the end of the series and therefore not really advance anything, what's the point? I am cautiously optimistic and wary all at once.

My GH viewer friends will be amused by the Ballad of Carly and Sonny.

Sounds like Ted Kennedy is doing better. I'm happy to hear it. His country needs him.

Interesting article about reviving old brands. Last weekend my mom and I were just lamenting, as we periodically do, the death of Fortified Oat Flakes. This was our favorite cereal when I was younger. Yeah, it's just oat flakes, but they were SO GOOD. My mom and I were both borderline obsessed with them. And then they just disappeared. The closest I've come to replicating it is Quaker's Oatmeal Flakes, and/or Arrowhead Mills Organic Oat Flakes, but it's still just not the same. Sigh.

Hey, is anyone capable of making this into an icon? You'd make me very very happy. :) I don't know how to deal with animated gifs.

Happy Belated Birthday [livejournal.com profile] angstville! Hope it was a good one.

I'm struggling with the BSG rumor as well. On the one hand, more angsty goodness but on the other why go back? I guess if it's done right, it could work, though there is the chance it would make the s4 finale feel a bit anti-climactic.

Yeah, that's one of my main concerns. Of course, if they decided to make an entire movie about Lee and Kara's affair, in great great detail, then I would be more on board. ;)
