I had to upload this hilarious icon in celebration of the episode. :) That was awesome, although there were a lot of points where I was like, "That doesn't make any sense!" You know, even more so than usual. I will say that in all the scenarios I had originally conceived as to why the Oceanic Six were only six, the island DISAPPEARING INTO THIN AIR was never one of the reasons I came up with. But did it move in space or time? I'm assuming time, b/c of the time traveling bunnies, etc., but if so, how far in the future/past/etc.? Hopefully we will find out next season.

This is going to be really scattershot, because my brain is all over the place.

I checked my Lost finale writeup from last season and I did theorize that perhaps the body in the coffin was Locke, although my money was on Sawyer. Hey, I at least mentioned him, I'll give myself props for that. *g* The "Jeremy Bentham" name should have been a tip-off, renaming himself after another philosopher, but it still made my jaw drop when they had the big reveal at the end. (And that's one reason I love this show so much -- few other shows can have me as on the edge of my seat as I was while waiting for that body to be revealed!) And they have to bring him back to the island too, so it's going to be a total Weekend at Bernie's scenario. Awesome.

The Jack/Kate scene at the beginning tore at my soul but I loved every minute of it. I loved how it picked up right where last season's finale left off. Genius.

I am SO HAPPY that Desmond and Penny got their happy ending -- at least for now. They are my second favorite couple after Jack and Kate, so that entire sequence filled me with squee. They are so adorable.

Walt got so big! I felt so bad for him that no one went to visit him, that's really lame. Of course Locke did, though.

OMG VINCENT IS STILL ON THE ISLAND! I guess. Maybe. POOR VINCENT.

So, there is no guarantee that either Jin or Michael is actually dead. I watch soap operas. That was nothing. Please. Jin is TOTALLY alive. He's the son of a fisherman! He can swim! Plus, it was SO LAME that he was staying behind with the bomb for so long. He better not have gone out for such a stupid reason. And how creepy was Christian Shephard showing up before the bomb went off? CREEPY. What is with that guy?

So that scene from a few weeks ago with Ben waking up in the desert in a parka WAS right after he moved the island. That is so cool. And he exiled himself for the island's sake.

When Military Asshole was going on about how if he died, everyone on the boat would die, I kept saying, "Ben doesn't CARE." And I was right. Geez, Locke, get with the program.

When they go back to the island, Sawyer and Juliet are so going to be a couple. And why did Sawyer decide to stay? Oh wait, he did have that spiel to Kate a few weeks ago about how staying there wouldn't be so bad. And I guess he figured he had nothing to go back to and would sacrifice himself for Kate? Someone who understands Sawyer will have to explain for me.

So what happened to everyone ELSE who was on the freighter? The lucky stars of the show get on the helicopter and everyone else is screwed? That's pretty shitty. What happened to Daniel in the Zodiac when the island moved? Were they moved with it? Hmm.

My wish from last week came true when we had Sun interacting with Charles Widmore! Woot! Guess she wants to get back to the island to find out for sure if Jin is dead or not. Whether this will align her with Jack or put her against him will remain to be seen.

Wasn't there some girl Ben was friends with when he was little on the island? Could that be Charlotte?

So next season will be all about Jack trying to convince the Oceanic Six to go back to the island, and, presumably what's going on on the island, and the "flashbacks" will be "Jeremy Bentham" visiting them all, etc. I'm guessing. I don't know how they're going to pull it off, but I'll be with them every step of the way. I am SO SAD it's over for another 8 months or whatever. Sniffle.

By the way, I watched last week's episode at 8, and noticed that one of the bits they added was Jack explaining who the three people were who survived the plane but died on the island: Boone, Libby, and Charlie. What a bizarre, random assortment of people. Hopefully someone smarter than I will be able to figure out why those were the three names that they chose.

See you next year, everybody!

By the way, [livejournal.com profile] timesink alerted me to the fact that Jorge Garcia has a blog, and IT IS ADORABLE. You can add it as a syndicated feed: [livejournal.com profile] jorgegarcia_bsp.

In other news, McCain's daughter wears Islamic terror scarf! Heeeeeee. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] bentleywg for that one.

High school student solves plastic bag degradation problem. Unreal. I hope this kid becomes a billionaire.

[livejournal.com profile] proggrrl alerted me to the fact that Shirley Manson from Garbage has been cast on The Sarah Connor Chronicles. That is pretty much the coolest news I've ever heard.

There's some new stuff coming out about Stonehenge, theorizing that it was actually a cemetery, and National Geographic has turned to Nigel Tufnel from Spinal Tap for his thoughts. Hilarious. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] scarlettina for the tip.

And I don't know about you, but I'm very excited for the alien video footage to be released tomorrow.

That scene, just before they got on the helicopter, when Sawyer was all set to be friendly with Kate, and she made a beeline for Jack, sealed it for Sawyer. That's the moment he knew without any doubt that Kate is Jack's. That's why he threw himself off the copter: a moment of noble self-sacrifice.

Plus, y'know, getting the moral high ground on Jack doesn't hurt.

Ah, good point! I'd forgotten about that bit.

*snerk* Indeed.

I thought that was priceless, really, and explains Jack's assy behavior ("He chose to stay there, I rescued you") even better. Jack is honestly jealous of Sawyer's love for Kate and can't help but worry she'd rather be with Sawyer somewhere than with Jack and his control issues.

I had that realization and had simultaneous love for Sawyer and compassion for Jack. It was a beautiful moment. *wipes tears* ;-)

oh crap, I just read "poor vincent" -- I can only guess what that means and it can't be good. (I had to work until 9pm, home at 9:30, so I'm waiting until 11 to start watching, ARGH). but I had to risk a glimpse of your Lost content to thank you for posting the link to the plastic-eating microbes story. This week I've been getting increasingly depressed about the continent-sized pile o' plastic in the pacific ocean, so this first step is incredibly good news. and a great kid-science story, too.

Oh, it doesn't mean anything! Vincent was not in the episode. I am speculating. :) Well, you've probably watched by now, so you know that yourself.

It is really hard for me to post this b/c I haven't watched the LOST finale yet and so am avoiding your lj-cut and the comments but I had to just SQUEEEEEEEE about the fact that I too am just blown back by the Shirley Manson/Sarah Connor news. That is just the best. Thing. EVAH! Whoot!

Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

My theory about Boone, Libby and Charlie? Those are three people who did actually die on the island (the closer you stay to the truth, the easier it is to lie.) I know more people have died (Ana Lucia, Shannon, the boring couple) but he couldn't name all of them I don't think, because that would sound suspicious. There's no chance that Boone, Libby and Charlie will ever come back, so he was safe to say them??? Maybe?

Anyone who has watched more than 30 seconds of a soap opera or any season finale of the XFiles knows that Jin isn't dead. *g* He's SO not dead. Puh-lease. Although I did figure out quickly as the boats were being loaded that all those passengers should have been wearing red shirts - that freighter was going to blow up.

Shutting up now...

Hmmm, interesting theory. But Charlie didn't die on the island, he died in the underwater station, so why not pick Shannon, or Ana Lucia, or Mr. Eko, etc? So strange.

Anyone who has watched more than 30 seconds of a soap opera or any season finale of the XFiles knows that Jin isn't dead. *g*

LOL. Seriously. You know he jumped in the water right before the bombs went off.

THAT IS TOTALLY WHAT I SAID. It has to be. Although I only vaguely remember that little girl, I'm pretty sure there was one.

Jin's totally not dead.

I am forever grateful to the writers of this show for giving me that Desmond and Penny reunion. That was all I needed to be happy with this season. Sort of.

I was bouncing up and down about Desmond and Penny. They got their (hopeful) happy ending! SQUEEE!

I am very sad about Sawyer on the island and Daniel in limbo, but who knows what stories that will take us to next season?

This is what B thearizes too. :)

Wait a minute! They *add* stuff into the reruns? Fuckers.

So did Jack explain why they had faux-survivors for his version of the crash? And I thought there were only two (which made me really nervous when I counted the number of people on the chopper, and realized that Desmond was one of them).

They had pimped this episode as having "extra footage," although all I noticed was a couple extra questions at the press conference: Jack's response about other survivors, and someone asked Sayid if he had plans to go back to Iraq, and he said, "There's nothing for me in Iraq." They didn't explain why they came up with the idea of there being other survivors.

If they get back to the Island and there are dinosaurs, I will be one happy cowgirl.

I too was thriled at the Des/Penny reunion (they were so happy, I started expecting someone to get shot, because this is Lost) and I think (hope) Jin might still be alive. However, I think Michael is gone, because there was that whole thing about the Island not letting him die and then Ghost!Zombie!WTFever!Christian said "You can go now".

I have to put this in a main post at some point, but Jeff Jensen at EW pointed out that when Ben shows up in the Tunisian desert, it is ten months after he moved the island, so....perhaps that is when the island moved to? Ten months into the future? Intriguing.

However, I think Michael is gone, because there was that whole thing about the Island not letting him die and then Ghost!Zombie!WTFever!Christian said "You can go now".

Ooooh, you are a genius! I like that theory, a lot.

And how creepy was Christian Shephard showing up before the bomb went off? CREEPY. What is with that guy?

My theory is that he has something to do with the time travel; therefore, his saying "It's time for you to go" to Michael means that he stopped time/time jumped/whatever else in order that Michael and, more importantly, JIN survived.

Maybe! I like that theory. Although I just read that Harold Perrineau has been cast in a new show, so maybe not. *g*
