My favorite part of this episode was that it had some HUMOR to it, geez. Remember when this show used to be funny?

Seriously, though, Gaius preaching to the Centurion? COMIC GOLD. I loved that so much and was so sad that the Centurion got blown up. Who knows what chaos Gaius could have wreaked? Alas. I really wanted the Centurion to somehow speak, causing Gaius to fall on his ass.

Also hilarious was he and Laura arguing over the best way to talk to the Hybrid. "I'm just doing the same thing you're doing." And OF COURSE Gaius thinks the Hybrid actually likes him. And when Gaius did the "Sssshhhhh....." I thought that was so Ricky Gervais, OMG. Ricky Gervais playing Gaius Baltar would have been pretty awesome, actually, except for the whole not being nearly as hot as James Callis thing. But I digress.

Crazy Space Family actually got called family! That made me smile. And yes, I loved when a) Kara put her hand on Lee's back and b) Lee manfully clutched Kara to his chest even if all of it was NOT REAL AT ALL. (When watching with [livejournal.com profile] oeilade, I said, "It MUST be a dream, Lee and Kara actually remember each other!" :P) Doesn't mean I can't get icons out of it, though, so there, RDM! SUCK ON THAT.

I'm guessing that seeing yourself dying has to be just a wee bit unsettling, even if it is a crazy dream/subconscious/interdimensional experience. And I'm glad [livejournal.com profile] dionusia caught that Laura is wearing a butterfly scarf, and the Greeks believed the butterfly represents the soul. Excellent.

I have to admit I found Bill putting his wedding ring on Laura's cold dead hand to be....not romantic in the least. "Here, have the wedding ring that symbolizes my marriage to my bitchy ex-wife, which I have not taken off for twenty years even though she didn't want anything to do with me, and wear it now that you are totally dead and I never had the balls to do anything about it while you were still alive." OH, THE ROMANCE! No.

And why is there this implication that somehow LAURA is the one responsible for whether they can be together emotionally or not? I'm pretty sure it takes two, and if Bill hasn't had the balls to make a move until now, I don't see why that's all on HER. Partially, sure, because she didn't do anything about it either, but like I said, it takes two.

Now, I know that it was really the larger message of losing what makes her human and finding her emotions and saving her own soul as she stares down death, etc., etc., etc. And I'm glad she was made to come to terms with all that, because those poeple DO care about her and she does keep them at arms' length when she doesn't have to. And she is staring death in the face and needs to be reminded of what's really important and what kind of legacy she TRULY wants to leave. Etc. But still. He could have done something sooner, too. And thank goodness for Romo and Imaginary Elosha or they might never have done anything, eh? Oy.

Which doesn't make the hug at the end any less sweet, except, how lame is it that they STILL didn't kiss? Losing the opportunity again, there, Bill. Good job.

I couldn't believe they actually had Gaius confess to Laura about the access codes. Eeeek! Wonder what the repercussions from that will be. I wasn't surprised when she took the bandage off and was a little eyerolly at her sudden remorse, but it kept my man from dying so it's all good. And I snickered a little when D'Anna came running over to show concern. "Oh yeah, she fucked him in ADDITION to torturing him. I forgot."

Speaking of D'Anna -- eh, let's not. Grateful to her for killing Cavil but that's all I'll say.

What else. How frickin' hot was Six in that Cylon pilot suit? Rowr. How frickin' creepy was FauxAthena? Eeep. How much improved was Helo's hair this week? A lot. And why did FauxAthena have a Colonial flightsuit? The hell?

All in all, a good episode, and I think it's really interesting that they've spent so much time the past two weeks on the A/R relationship -- I'm very curious to see not only how that develops, but how, or if, it will affect events around them. Especially with Lee currently sitting in the president's chair.

But really, it's all about NEXT WEEK OMG. Did you see that promo? I shall leave spoiler space since I know some of my BSG friends do not like to watch the promos....

HOLY CRAP! My real question is, how misleading or not was that promo? Do they really find out about all four Cylons, or just Tory and Tigh? Or none at all -- are Tory and Tigh dreaming those respective scenarios? Are Tigh, Tyrol and Sam really the three Cylons that Lee is about to airlock? Are Lee and Kara actually going to speak to each other? Also, Lee punching out Tigh! Adama punching a mirror! Gaius looking crazier than usual! Eeeeeeeeeeeee!

Is it Friday yet??? Multiple people affiliated with the show have said this next episode is one of their best, if not the best, so I hope it lives up to the hype.

BWA!!! Yup, that hilarious nuclear apocalypse!!

Hee. You know what I mean. ;P

And yeah, as I just said in Boppy's LJ, I love that Laura is some kind of OOC Lee/Kara shipper. "Oh Lee! *swoon*" The hell??? What's next, bad fic?

Also, if all the Eights are the same, doesn't that kind of undercut how Athena kept insisting she wasn't the one who shot Adama? And how does Helo square making sure the Cylons - who can't reproduce any other way - can't download with his anti-genocide stance last season? (Eliminating the ability to reproduce basically destroys a species, no?

These are all good questions that I believe Jane Espenson is incapable of answering. You know, I liked this episode more before I started reading other people's comments about it and kept saying, "Yeah, that's right! Yeah, what about that? And that? Geez." Maybe since Helo made his own Cylon baby he figures everyone else can just do the same. Linear thinking is not always his strong suit. *g*

I think you're so right about "dropping the issues." There's no time for that sort of thing anymore in the midst of all the Cylon navel-gazing.

so the species is … over

Yeah. And yet no one but Laura has really put it that way. Maybe the implications haven't truly sunken in yet -- or maybe it will be yet another dropped issue.

I should be agog with anticipation of Lee airlocking people, no?

I certainly am. *g* And Kara says his name! It's a banner day all around. Plus, Sam might be one of the airlockees, I know how much you would enjoy that. ;)
