working for the weekend

Project Runway was so awesome tonight. First of all, I loved the poll about who you would rather see as a drag queen. LOL. What a fun challenge! I was pretty stoked about Hedda Lettuce, she's been around forever. And then she turned out to be a beeyotch, LOL. Although those gloves were ugly. But I loved Tim getting all aggro about it. I thought Terri was robbed. That outfit was frickin' fantastic, just brilliant. Joe's outfit was great (very 70s Batgirl) but his client was the one who gave him the idea, so, hrm. Although, I did love that he did a catsuit. Daniel was the right cut to make, IMO. His time had come. Bor-ring! Oh, and what was that stuff with Suede and his grandfather? The hell? But the line of the night goes to Deanna: "If I hear 'licious' one more time I'm gonna barf. I guess that would be barflicious." Finally, an episode that gave me ideas for icons!
Had dinner with
girlunravelled tonight and indoctrinated her into Pinkberry. Mwah ha ha ha. I do really need to try Red Mango at some point.
Went through a lot of the Dragon Con schedule today and am starting to get a little excited even if I am still disconsolate that Jamie and Katee won't be there. At least they added Nathan Fillion to make
em_meredith happy. I am more excited about Micky Dolenz.
Many thanks to
greycoupon for noting that one of the contestants on next season's Amazing Race is the treasurer for San Diego Comic Con. LOL. I love this, from the AP article: "We did extensive research on what to wear - what was lightweight and would help us move the fastest," added Yturralde. "I think it was the longest I ever went without wearing a logo on my T-shirt. If you see me on the street, I'm usually wearing a Superman, Bizarro or Batman T-shirt on a constant basis, but we had to utilize more multi-use clothing for 'The Amazing Race.'" Whatever, I would totally wear my Batgirl t-shirt on the Amazing Race. It's so comfy!
Is it better to be fat and fit than skinny and unfit?
More women than ever are childless. This will not, unfortunately, be enough to satisfy my mother.
On a related note, I was so aggravated today when I called a building owner about an apartment and he hemmed and hawed over me having one cat. I wanted to ask him, do you allow children in the building? Because I guarantee that a child is a lot noisier, messier, and more destructive than my fat, old, lazy cat. AARGH. Just sayin'.
Sad about Representative Tubbs Jones. People seriously need to stop fucking dying right now. Too many people I know are going through this at the moment.
Matt Lauer and Al Roker do a rhythmic gymnastics routine. The Brian Williams cameo is hilarious.
And finally tonight, in the continuing vein of the I'm a Marvel/I'm a DC parody ads: Iron Man and Batman. Thanks to
louandersblog for the link.
The Hellboy one is pretty great, too.

Date: 2008-08-21 05:36 am (UTC)The kimono was ten kinds of fabulous, but I must admit, I was rooting for the pink sailor suit...it just worked. Terri has been runner up so many times, she could come in and win the whole damned thing.
Nathan brings out the really amusing fangirls(not just Em), so there's that to look forward to, right?

Oh, and what was that stuff with Suede and his grandfather?
My theory is that the producers finally realized that Suede's third-person shtick was losing them viewers and so used the only third-person free clip they could find.

Date: 2008-08-22 02:10 am (UTC)IAC that Terri's get-up for Acid Betty should have won, that Daniel was definitely the right choice to go home (if I had to listen one. More. TIME. to his whiney voice going on about how he has great taste/is high-end/is cotoure/blah blah blah...), and that possibly one of the greatest highlights was listening to the other designers complain about Blayne.
Oh, and what was that stuff with Suede and his grandfather? The hell?
While he was telling that story, I was actually sitting there unblinkingly thinking "Oh my god, he's trying to SECTION EIGHT his way off the show!!" Seriously, it was the only explanation I could think of, because what the fuck??

Date: 2008-08-22 04:44 pm (UTC)But the best moment, for me, was Tim's advice to...can't remember who...but it was along the lines of "Tell her you've been to more than one rodeo," or words to that effect. That needs to be iconed!
