Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was mostly okay; had much fun playing with the nephew, who apparently, when he was asked what he was thankful for, said, "I'm only thankful for Aunt [Dia]." Ha ha ha ha ha. Sadly I was not in the room when he said that, but I am assured that it happened.

Look at the mouth on that kid. SO CUTE.
I'm so sad that Dallas and Toni got eliminated! Although really, once Dallas lost his passport, they were kind of screwed regardless. It's not like they would have been able to leave for the next country on time, I'm guessing. Still, I'm so bummed that they are not in the final, and Dan and Andrew are. As usual, there is no justice in reality TV. I hope Nick and Starr win. I kind of like Nick a lot, especially after his approaching the Metro thing the same way I would have -- buses, are you kidding me? Subway maps are easy peasy.
Didn't even look into going to TAR Con this year. I guess I'm over it, unless the time comes again when I fall in love with a team, which hasn't happened in seasons. Oh well.
Desperate Housewives has been totally awesome this season. I'm loving it. Yay show.
Another show I am loving this season is Chuck. And to think I almost gave up on it last year. The second season has been nothing short of sublime.
I suspect I'm going to be in the minority on this, but I really dug the whole Shawn/Gus's sister thing, although apparently not enough for me to actually remember her name. I think it was the bit where they were sort of but not really holding hands in the police station. I'm a sucker for that shit. Beyond that, I enjoyed it, especially the ending with the annual Christmas gift shenanigans. Hee. Can't wait for the new season to start!
Hard to believe Christmas is coming up so soon! By the way, all of your "All I Want..." icon needs can be filled in this post from

Shot of Taylor Kitsch as Gambit in the Wolverine movie. I have to admit, as a Gambit fangirl, I think I approve. Of the looks, anyway. Not so much the shirt.
One of my Overheards went up again.
In case any BSG fans haven't seen them yet, Michael Trucco posted some awesome behind the scenes shots on his website.
This is charming: The Labor Department is racing to complete a new rule, strenuously opposed by President-elect Barack Obama, that would make it much harder for the government to regulate toxic substances and hazardous chemicals to which workers are exposed on the job. STAY CLASSY, GUYS.
Nicholas Kristof writes about the epidemic of women being deliberately scarred by acid in eastern countries. Warning, disturbing content at link. At his blog about the column he links to the Progressive Women's Association in Pakistan, which is taking donations.
Anderson Cooper in a swimsuit. Rawr.
Happy Belated Birthday
telaryn!

Date: 2008-12-01 04:52 am (UTC)I'm indifferent to Shawn/Juliet, which, considering what a shipper whore I am, is pretty sad.

Date: 2008-12-01 05:20 am (UTC)Your nephew continues to pwn with his cuteness. And awww, that's so sweet! :x
I'm liking DH, too! And I wasn't expecting to, since I started watching this season mainly for Gale, who's going to be out for a while now, obviously.
I am currently watching The Girls Next Door, btw. I blame you.

Date: 2008-12-01 05:35 pm (UTC)The frat boys? Eligible for the million? Are you kidding me?! They should have been gone several legs ago, and it's only dumb luck that they hung on by the skin of their teeth.

Date: 2008-12-02 03:33 am (UTC)Also thanks for the Taylor pic. YUM.
I definitely want Nick and Starr to win, mostly for him (although I like her fine). He's a really great racer. I loved him in the cab reading the clue carefully and adding up the numbers. He's thorough and smart, and I dig it.
Poor Toni and Dallas. You can overcome lack of money, but not passports.
Oh, and the frat boys cannot win. I mean, good on them if they do, because it will be the most unlikely TAR victory ever. But still. No.
