Gossip Girl was AMAZING tonight. OMG. Stephanie Savage wrote it and you could tell. I was blown away by how good it was. Also -- So do we think that Lily aborted the baby or had it and gave it up for adoption? I kind of think the latter is worse in terms of keeping it secret from him. I couldn't BELIEVE how cold Rufus looked, WOW. I love that the parents have just as doomed and tortured a romance as the kids do. Speaking of which, Chuck, OMG. I don't have the mad love for Chuck that many do, but Ed Westwick was fantastic in this episode. The ending killed me. Also killing me? The adorableness of Blair and Cyrus. And all of the love and support and friendship -- especially Blair and Nate helping Chuck. I have such a weakness for stuff like that. Great, great episode.

I didn't know Nick from TAR is in The Fantasticks! Very cool. (Also, how did I not notice until last night that Nick has ARMS? ZOMG. Made me, ah, see him in a different light. *g*)

Why would you Photoshop Jessica Alba like this?

I'm mostly here for Day Two of posting about something that made me happy today: I had lunch with mefra3 and her daughter, and it made me happy to see them since I only get to do so a few times a year. Six year old J. is adorable and is so well-spoken for her age, she is just a delight. Good times. Oh, and mefra3 gave me my Christmas present, so yay for early presents!

I love that so many of you have taken to doing this with me. Yay!

OK, I am exhausted and need to go to bed early tonight. Yawn.

I think it almost has to be adoption, because who checks the sex of the baby and goes all the way to France to have an abortion? Unless she planned to give it up and then changed her mind, or Rufus just asked a dumb question. But it was my impression that a long hospital stay had to have been a coverup for a pregnancy and delivery, although I could be wrong. If it was an abortion, I think Rufus is being particularly douchey about it to be all, "I SHALL NEVER SPEAK TO HER AGAIN!" Not exactly unprecedented for a young woman to have an unplanned pregnancy and abortion and not tell her significant other about it. To me, his reaction almost has to indicate that he has another living child out there that she never allowed him the opportunity to know; otherwise, he's just being kind of a dick.

So, so much love for Chuck/Blair.

And heh, thanks. I cannot fully process The Hills until you have watched. Glad I took my "wtf" out of the subject line before I sent.

Agreed with all of this! And I generally am irritated by Chuck/Blair, and even I loved them in this episode. Also, I LOVED Blair's dress for the wedding. But him coming to Blair was so so great, and the look on her face was fantastic. I also really liked that Lily didn't argue with Chuck or try to get him to give her the info -- that's what he wanted and he would have been so satisfied to refuse, I'm glad that Lily actually got him to go find Blair.

Ugh, all I want is for Lily and Rufus to be happy! And also for Serena's stupid boyfriend to fall off a cliff. Why will no one give me that!

I've figured it almost certainly had to have been an adoption, or at the very least a birth - and that the ~document~ Chuck had (and subsequently burned) was a birth certificate. I mean, socially speaking, why would it be so utterly devastating that once upon time, Lilly had an abortion? An illegitimate kidby way of some ex-rockstar and now living in France, perhaps unawares? soooooooooooo much juicier. (I think it also makes more sense that LIlly would want to pay to have this go away - in that, she'd want to pay to protect the kid from ever getting dragged in the Bass Empire family horror show.)

I think it's gotta be giving the kid up for adoption, because a) would an abortion be that scandalous in society circles? ; and b) finding out one had an abortion doesn't really point to the question "was it a boy or a girl".
