Had a really nice weekend, in spite of losing an hour of it. Friday night was bowling with yahtzee63, divanoir and counteragent, and we had much fun mostly making fools of ourselves and getting the occasional lucky strike or spare. Saturday was brunch with girlunravelled, followed by some shopping in the hood, where I actually bought a dress at a boutique. Take it from me that this is shocking behavior for me. But it was really cute, and it fit me, and it was cheap for a boutique dress (cheaper even than an Ann Taylor Loft dress, really), so I took the plunge and did it. An incredulous oeilade was badgering me for pictures, so here you go.


Cute, right? Needs to be pressed before I can wear it. It's just cotton. Also in order to see the detailing on the dress I took a picture with no flash, then fiddled with the curves in Photoshop, which is why it looks weird. It's just a black dress. Now if only I had somewhere to wear it...


Then Saturday night bexatious came over and we ordered in and watched Bradley on Monk, finally, and a CNN: Planet in Peril special I'd recorded back in December. Let me tell you that we are well and truly screwed, and people suck. And there would be less endangered species if people in China didn't eat so much weird shit. ;) See, now you don't have to watch, I've summed it up for you. It's very upsetting, lots of dead elephants and dead sharks and dead gorillas. We are destroying this planet. Ugh. Also: PLEASE DON'T BUY IVORY. Ktxhbi.

Today I did some work, hung up some pictures, took a nap. Very exciting. Wish I had gotten some fannish stuff done, but what are you gonna do. I suppose it would be wrong to take a day off to write drabbles and make icons?

But, airings someone over at ONTD wins at life for making this before I had to plead with the internets for someone to do so:

I could look at that all day. And probably will.

canadiangirl_86 did a wonderful picspam of the last BSG ep for Lee/Kara shippers, here at sasa_hq. I've been enjoying so much of the commentary for this episode; the commentaries have been cheering and reassuring in a way that Lee fans need right about now. The more I think about that scene now the more pleased I am with it. So thank you, awesome LJ peeps. :D If anyone wants to come in and talk about it some more, please do. I feel like I haven't had enough time to discuss the way I would have liked.

And I thought both TAR and Desperate Houswives were extremely enjoyable tonight, so yay. I was even pleased with the Rock of Love elimination. Good job, TV. Please to be keeping it up tomorrow night for 24.

I think I missed domfangirl's birthday, in which case: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

For a split second (ok, longer), I totally thought you meant the soap here, and I thought "OMG What's Ivory soap doing to the planet!!"

3) (this is going to make me sound like a loser) I spent the entire day yesterday watching old episodes of Trapper John, MD on YouTube, and being amused by how much hair Timothy Busfield had. So, I think I did fannish for you yesterday. Ahem.

4) I'm totally not as into Jamie as you, but the overwhelming temptation to run my fingers through his hair through most of that episode was vaguely painful. ;)

What I don't understand is that the U.S. is second biggest consumer of ivory. Why can't we just outlaw it? We can ban Cuban cigars but not ivory? That makes no sense to me.
