So I'm caught up on Dollhouse, and one thing bugged me, and it's probably not what you think. Why, oh why, can't the not-incredibly-skinny girl just be a nice, not-incredibly-skinny girl, instead of having to be a sleeper agent Doll? It was bad enough when I felt like we were supposed to be pitying her because she does not look like Eliza Dushku and therefore had no hopes of getting the hot guy, but then she kind of DID get the hot guy (at least physically, ahem) and it's going to turn out to be a big farce because we can't just have a normal girl who is not incredibly skinny. Whatever, Joss. *eyeroll*

The best scene of the whole series so far was Patton Oswalt telling Tahmoh about his wife dying. I'm not sure what that says about this show.

Holy crap Tricia was frickin' HOT in this episode. She was never someone I considered going gay for until tonight. DAMN. And she and Casey were, as Chuck said, a match made in a very scary place, LOL. Loved it. But Sarah was so sweet with tracking down Chuck's father and Casey was so sweet when he defended Sarah and awww, it was just a big old ball of sweetness and I needed that. Nice episode.

Mmmm, nothing like a naked Jack Bauer getting hosed down to make your Monday night, eh? And I LOVED the scene where Renee goes to see him, OMG. The man needs comfort sex, Renee! What are you waiting for? Then it got kind of boring near the end because Jack Bauer watching an operation going down on the teevee is really not anywhere near as exciting as Jack Bauer kicking ass and taking names. I appreciated Tony's effort, though.

Gossip Girl I don't have much to say beyond OHSHIT regarding that end scene with the boy who wrote Dan the letter. Nicely done. Completely implausible, but nicely done nonetheless.

[livejournal.com profile] taragel wrote a great post-finale crackfic in which Kara discovers destiny is not all it's cracked up to be.

And I had yet another So, throughout the show one of the main themes was always FAMILY, and how Galactica is a FAMILY, and the things you do for your FAMILY, and sticking together like FAMILY, and then.....they all just fucking scatter and go their separate ways and are all, smell ya later it's been real, have a nice life? What the fuck is that? Ugh, just one more thing to make me crazy. DAMMIT.

Also, how has no one made icons of the "mattress" scene from L&O UK? I foresee doing that this weekend.

In real-life news, due to the economy, more and more colleges are accepting rich students instead of smart ones. Because, you know, if there's one thing this country needs, it's an even greater gap between the rich and the not-rich.

Happy Birthday to Ewan McGregor! For your birthday present I will probably pay money to see Angels and Demons in the theater, even though I don't really want to. The things I do for love! *dramatic sigh*

One of my major complaints about the ending is that it broke up the family. I hated that. (among other stuff as you well know. ;)

Family is overrated! Must die alone on strange planet! :P

Oh this show!

Amen on Dollhouse. Mellie was actually one of the only characters I'd really warmed to, and now she's not only fake but will be faking the thankless role of the woman-who-stands-in-the-way-of-the-noble-hero's-great-quest-with-selfish-concerns-that-she-not-be-raped-and-killed.

And oh, that fic was funny! Enter Boxey!!!

Seriously - he looks HAWT in the trailer. I suspect it will be worth at least a matinee ticket. :)

Yeah but. Even if she hadn't been a sleeper agent, she was gratingly insecure and creepy-stalker-neighbor-y. Because all non-skinny girls hate themselves and have to put themselves down every five seconds. Sigh. I am grasping to find a reason why I am still watching this show.

Yes, exactly! After all, if you don't look like Eliza Dushku, how can you possibly be deserving of self-esteem or happiness?

That is a question I ask myself every day, my friend.

:( I really wish she had not been a sleeper. And that she had miraculously not died when creepy rapist came to kill her, and that she stopped hating herself.

At least he didn't randomly kill her with a stray bullet. At least this normal girl kicked some ass instead of just dying in her lovers arms after having the only healthy relationship on the show. Oops, I think my Buffy is showing.

Word. I was just thinking about that the other day in the shower (been having a lot of BSG thoughts in the shower)... all those episodes where all these family relationships developed between these characters, blood-related or not, what a waste of time.

Hey, thanks for what you said about Dollhouse. I had the same reaction, but wondered if it was because i've been trying to loose weight lately. I was excited when they got together and then to have her become a doll; I was disappointed.

One day, I will catch up on all the shows clogging up the DVR and be able to carry on a rational converstion about things other than BSG. Until that time, I shall simply say:

Yes. Family's a big deal. Too bad they had to blow that theme all to hell in the last 30 minutes. Bastards.

Ahhh, I love how the rage never fully goes away-- it can always be conjured up at a moment's notice!

And yep, Tara's fic was pure freakin' genius.

Ewan McGregor is the only reason why I'm going to see Angels and Demons in the theatre.

Yeah, breaking up the family was yet another thing I didn't like about the finale. Epic fail, RDM.

I hear what you're saying about neighborDoll, but I didn't really have that reaction. Mostly because I assumed from the beginning that she was a Doll or a spy- thank you Heroes.

Tricia did look amazing last night.
