another year closer to death

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. It was funny this year getting them on LJ, and Twitter, and Facebook...it's a social networking world and we're just living in it.
I didn't do anything too special today, as my small birthday gathering is tomorrow night, but I did have a decent day despite having to work. At lunchtime I went out and got my free lip gloss set as my birthday gift for being a Sephora Insider (totally worth getting one of those cards), then went to Saks and did this Frederic Fekkai promotion where you turn in an empty or full bottle of shampoo to get a Fekkai bottle. So I traded in some crappy Suave shampoo I didn't like anyway for Fekkai Color Technician. Woot!
Then after work I went to my favorite place for a chair massage, and hit up the LeSportsac sample sale where I was quite successful, as it was the last day and they were marking stuff down even further. Then back to my place for Survivor, Fringe, and Project Runway. Not a bad day all in all. :)
And now you all need to watch the e-card that
oeilade sent me. I literally cried from laughing.
As for TV....
Survivor has apparently found an even bigger asshole than Coach or Jonny Fairplay, which I did not think was possible. That he's an oilman from Texas is the icing on the cake.
Fringe was AWESOME tonight. I can't help but wonder how much the awesomeness had to do with the fact that Olivia wasn't in it that much, but hey. Although I did really enjoy her when she was in it. But not as much as I enjoyed Peter pining (again, nobody pines like Joshua Jackson) and Walter's brittleness. Gah, the two of them SLAYED ME at the beginning. So good. What else did I love? The X-Files references (this did feel so much like an XF ep, didn't it? Plus they're even in Vancouver now), throwaway lines like Peter complimenting Astrid's haircut, the Nina/Broyles kiss, the custard and Walter desperately wanting Alternate Peter to like it, Charlie's story at Olivia's bedside, and the phantom typewriter. New FBI chick I'm undecided on at the moment. Started out hating her acting style but I warmed up to her a little by the end. So I'll reserve judgment for now. I am VERY VERY SAD that Charlie is now evil and real Charlie is dead. That is not cool. WOE. Does this mean he'll be killed off soon? Sigh.
Finally, the end with Peter telling Broyles about getting proactive -- GUH. So hot. HOT. Ahem. That was a nice birthday present. *g*
I am so freaking aggravated that we are getting hardly ANY Kors and Garcia this season. WTF. Fucking L.A. Also, dear L.A. fashion chick, STFU about New York. Better cockroaches than smog, cockroaches don't give you cancer. Also, bite me. Nicholas is an ass and I really can't stand him anymore. WTF with Johnny making that shit up about the steamer -- I love how Tim was APPALLED, hee. I wish Nina had been there to comment on his construction. Was happy Irina won as she's been one of my faves since the beginning and I loved that coat. So gorgeous. However, if it had been up to me Christopher would have won, as that skirt was amazing. Too bad they couldn't award a tie.
Don't feel like there are many strong personalities/memorable characters yet, but hopefully that will change.
So glad tomorrow is Friday. I have had meetings and stuff going on every day this week, including tomorrow, and the week has felt ENDLESS. Am glad it will be over in less than 24 hours.
And a Happy Birthday to my birthday twin,
kirbyfest! (Wait, it is your birthday today, right? LOL)

Date: 2009-09-18 04:09 am (UTC)I agree with ALL your Project Runway thoughts, except my mom and I both wanted to snuggle Johnny like a puppy before this episode, so it was quite disconcerting to watch him get the Dumbass Deserves To Go Home Edit with even Tim Gunn pissed off at him at the end. I mean, I know the lying was crazy and got increasingly hilarious as the episode went on (Dior!) and yet. I don't want to be on Nicholas' side in any situation.
(Edit: I totally miss Michael Kors and Nina too. Cockroaches? STFU!)

Date: 2009-09-18 05:33 am (UTC)OMG that ecard. ha. I think I'm horrified that possibly Saul Tigh wiggled his ass at me. And Josh's creepy grin was so hilarious.
Happy birthday!
