Had to do a wee bit of flailing about tonight's Fringe.

It's funny, because the past couple of weeks (including the beginning of tonight's ep), I had been thinking about how I liked that they've been doing this real slow burn with Peter and Olivia, and I have especially liked how it's seemed like Peter has been slowly falling for her and she's kind of oblivious to it.

AND THEN TONIGHT HE TRIED TO KISS HER. Heeeeeeeeeeeee. That was awesome. And it reminded me of the XF movie in a way. And I liked that. And no one does smitten like Joshua Jackson, SIGH.

AND THEN THEY WENT ON A DATE AND HE WORE A LITTLE SWEATER HEEEEEEEEEE.

But I need help!!! I fucked up my DVR and I missed the last minute. The last line I saw was Peter saying he knows a nice place down the block, "Should we walk?" and then it cuts to Walter and....gone. Help???

I also loved how it was so....not really that big a deal. No huge OMG build-up and the skies parting and all that crap, just...normal human development. *g* I am totally spoiler-free so have no idea if there is info out there, but I would love it if Peter and Olivia just....became a couple, and it was no big whoop, just something in the background that informed their relationship. God, wouldn't that be REFRESHING? I won't hold my breath, but we'll see.

Anyway, that niceness helped make up for the OMG VOMIT grossness of the beginning. Eeeeeek!

I also have thoughts on Lost, OBVIOUSLY, but probably not anything that everyone hasn't already said. So for now suffice it to say that I LOVED it, I thought it was amazing, and it broke my brain but it was a glorious breaking, and I cannot wait to see where this final season takes us. I love that show so much.

OMG Olivia saw Peter shimmering and she realizes that he is from the other universe and she is GOBSMACKED and while Peter gets his coat, Walter comes up and says, "Don't tell," and THAT WAS THE END. For TWO MONTHS. Gahhhh!

Tonight was amazing. I loved the moment between them and how natural it felt. (And how she was acting totally casual at the end ... but refixed her hair anyway.)

OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THAT. Especially since one of my first thoughts when Walter told her about the shimmer was that she would see Peter shimmering.

I loved how natural it was too! No orchestral swell, no heavens parting, just two people who like each other. And I LOVED the bit with her hair in the mirror. Sadly, I totally channeled my mother and said to the TV, "And some lipstick wouldn't kill you either!"

Omg, my mom did the same thing - she was like "how about a splash of COLOR, Olivia?"

OMG THIS.

God, wouldn't that be REFRESHING?

And also this. Sadly not to be because of above explanation. I guess they had to do something to make Peter interesting, and I used to be way into it, but now I am sad! He's so cute about her! And she needs something normal! Dammit.

The beginning was vomitous and creeptastic. And possibly scarier to contemplate than any horror movie I've ever watched.

THEY CAN STILL GO OUT EVEN IF HE'S FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE! Ahem. Well, we'll see.

He's so cute about her!

He really is. Though with Josh, I expect nothing less. :D

Seriously. I liked how Astrid was like, THIS is the one thing I cannot do. I'm with you, Astrid.

Oh, they totally can! (And should!) It's just not...regular. Plus the shimmer would drive her crazy. I'd probably put up with it for Josh Jackson though. :)

It is true, no one does smitten like Joshua Jackson. Sigh.
