Have had an emotional roller coaster of a weekend. Saturday morning discovered a growth on my cat's mouth (really more her lip). She seems okay otherwise so I'm hoping it's just an icky old cat benign kind of thing. But of course I'm still freaking out. Taking her to the vet tomorrow after work.
Then I had to go straight from that to my second date with a guy from Match.com. He's a really nice guy and I like him as a person, but am not feeling the "spark," which is disappointing. Meh. Didn't help of course that I was not in the best frame of mind! So, LJ Nation, how many dates do YOU give it to feel a "spark?"
Saturday night I went to see Alice in Wonderland with
bexatious and
divanoir, and I really did not care for it at all. Actually, I could have found a certain measure of peace with it for most of it, but the last 15 minutes or so just made want to throw things, or cry. At least I apparently amused my movie companions with my occasional heavy sighing. LOL. To think I was so excited for this movie when I first heard about it...such a disappointment.
I am also confused as to how the Karate Kid remake can be called The Karate Kid when he is in China and learning Kung Fu.
Today was a little more mellow, though I've been on pins and needles about the healthcare vote all day. Stayed away from C-SPAN though, as I know I can't handle that.
On the plus side, the weather was GORGEOUS this weekend. In a completely unseasonal way, but it was nice while it lasted.
Still enjoying TAR this season. The team that came in first tonight is my favorite. :D
Oh, I had my first acupuncture session on Friday, and have another one tomorrow, so if anyone is curious and has questions I'd be happy to answer them.
On a final note, as many have mentioned already, yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the Battlestar Galactica finale. Would you believe I have not watched a full episode since then? In a YEAR? That is pretty crazy. I have not even watched "The Plan" yet. So, well done, Ronald Moore. Good job. Sigh. Thankfully, the one thing he can't take away from me is all the awesome times I had with my fellow crazy BSG fans. So there. :D

Date: 2010-03-22 03:06 am (UTC)Everyone keeps telling me to give it at least three dates to feel the spark. For a match.com set up, though? I'd probably give it four. He might just be a little weird because of the online dating thing? I dunno. You're pretty great, he should be jumping through hula hoops to impress you!

I also agree with what

Date: 2010-03-23 04:06 am (UTC)FWIW, I never feel "sparks" for guys until I've known them for a good while. With Thor, I knew him for over a year before I was attracted to him. And even now, I don't find myself thinking someone is attractive until I've really gotten to know them. If you enjoy him as a person spend time with him. The whole, "head-over-heels" love thing is very over-rated IMO because it's just not sustainable and we create false expectations because of that. If nothing else, enjoy the friendship. We can all use more of that.
