For those who haven't heard yet:

Well, the good news is that the surgery went well and they think they got everything out, and most importantly her chest x-ray was clear, which is good. The mass the vet removed was actually fluid-filled, not solid, which ups the odds of it being benign. Biopsy results will be in on Tuesday. The one worrisome part is that she also had two small new growths starting on the other side of her mouth, so this could be a recurring problem.

But now she has to wear one of those Elizabethan collars until the stitches come out in two weeks, and she is not happy. She didn't sleep at all last night (which means I didn't sleep much either), and we had quite a time with my trying to get her to eat since she has to eat wet food and she doesn't like that. Then last night I was trying to give her a pill for pain and managed to aggravate the stitches and she started bleeding so I started freaking out etc. It's okay now so hopefully that won't happen again! Basically the next two weeks are going to suck. I hope she gets used to the collar soon.

One funny thing: when I talked to the vet this morning it wasn't to the guy who operated on her but to a woman doctor who assisted yesterday, and she was like, "I have to tell you, Miss Parker is HUGE here. She's so popular." LOL. They even took a picture of her and emailed it to the doctor who took care of her last summer who isn't with the practice anymore, and she was all excited. "Is that Miss Parker? I miss her!" Hee. My cat is very lovable, it is true. :)

Thanks again for all your good thoughts, it really does mean a lot to me. I'm nervous about the biopsy results, but dealing with an unhappy cat is my top priority right now. I seriously don't know you those of you with actual human children do it. ;)

That's so cute that she's so popular. My roommate's cat is like that, every time she takes him to the vet they all freak out about how handsome he is. Obviously, I think Fluffy is the cutest and prettiest little girl in the entire world, so I don't know why everyone isn't fawning over her all the time.

I'm glad Miss P's mass was fluidy. ♥

Yeah, I'm not sure that would work for her b/c the stitches are on her mouth, so that's what has to be protected. :(

I'm glad the news is good so far. I can't imagine either of my kitties handling that collar very well so good luck with her.

Miss Parker is indeed awesome, and I am glad that she seems to be doing okay. You must take pictures of her with the Cone of Shame, so she can glare at the camera.

Awww, I'm glad to hear that your kitty is doings better! I'll be sending you a lot of good thoughts that the biopsy will be clear and the next few weeks will get easier.

It's scary when our little guys are sick, isn't it? I remember feeling so helpless. I'm with you on not knowing how parents do it! It has to be so much worse!

So glad to hear the surgery went well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good biopsy results. That's great that Miss P is so loved at the vet's office. I think Sid has "Bad Kitty" in big red letters on his chart. :-P

That sounds like all good news so far. Fingers crossed for a good biopsy. I hope she gets used to the Elizabethan collar soon for both your sakes. Give her back scratchies from K and me.

Yes, they were able to remove those with some electro-something or other.
