So. That was a shock, but not a total complete shock. Chris had a weak night; Elliott had a very strong night; and Katharine got so slammed by the judges that it mobilized her fan base. Chris would have been better served if the judges had been harsher with him. Also, it seems like there's a history with this show of a seemingly more deserving person being eliminated fourth and leaving in a seemingly less deserving person to be eliminated third. I feel badly for Katharine, actually, who looked completely flabbergasted by the whole thing. Oh well. Only two more episodes anyway, what difference does it make? It's not like Chris isn't going to get a record deal anyway. And I'm with [livejournal.com profile] michellek, the best part of the whole thing was watching Simon's world crumble into a million pieces. *delighted cackle* See, nights like this are why this show is crack. Love it.

Vaughn is dreamy. Yeah, that's pretty much all I got. Kind of lame for Anna to go through that whole transformation only to get killed right away. Sucks to be her. And yay Sark! The end.

Holy crap that was good. Mr. Eko episodes are love, for one thing, and nice use of Claire's psychic. When Locke and Eko have scenes together I am mesmerized; I cannot take my eyes off these men and the way they speak to each other. Terry O'Quinn deserves a fucking Emmy for his work tonight -- showing Locke realizing that he has been duped yet again, for the umpteenth time in his life. The orientation tape was campy goodness, and my first thought was of course to wonder if they had other videos in there. Movie night on the island! Also, um, the surveillance TVs gave me porny fic ideas. Ahem. Anyway.

[livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63 mentioned, and I have to mention it as well, that it makes NO SENSE to me that for some reason it was BAD of Jack to take the opportunity to find out where Sawyer's stash was. Um, hello, Sawyer is the one who took them in the first place. WTF? And it was quite frankly clever of him to think of that, and the fact that he is thinking of things like that even in the midst of a crisis is why he's a natural leader and without him the rest of you would probably still be sleeping in holes on the beach. Grrr.

Hurley crying was heartbreaking. Ripped me in two. Poor Hurley.

Harold Perrineau rocked, bringing such a mix of guilt and fear and caution to his role tonight. Feeling guilty for shooting Libby, but still hoping she'd die. Wow.

There has not been nearly enough Sayid lately. Did Naveen Andrews get a movie gig or something?

Loved the question mark in the dirt. Loved Locke having Eko's dream. Loved Jack's scene by himself in the bathroom at the end, losing a patient, feeling helpless. Loved Ana Lucia being dead. Loved it all. Love this show.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I am SO VERY HAPPY "MoJo" will not be in the final. Wow, I actually don't hate any of the final three, and don't have a problem with any of them winning. How refreshing.

By the way, the bugs? Yeah, I would have been so out of there. I almost puked just watching them on TV. There are some things I would not do for any amount of money.

Brad Whitford quote of the day: Seven years of sexual tension! I'm sure he took a big nap after that. I'm sure she wanted to talk, but he went right out. I think it's interesting that he's doing the lion's share of publicity for the show ending -- it's clearly because he has an NBC show in the fall and the network wants him to pimp it. But it makes me wonder if that makes it more or less likely that he was one of the stars supposedly asking for more money for the retrospective. Speaking of which, I saw an article today, I can't remember where, I've seen so many at this point, that said that when the stars asked for money, NBC refused to negotiate *any* amount, even less than what they were asking. Hrm.

On a related note, I found the most hilarious thing today: Dead as a Doorman on German DVD. Maybe it makes more sense in German.

On a final happy note, Bush gets the lowest approval numbers of his presidency. Actually, the lowest approval rating of many, many presidencies. Ha. Although I would like to single out one Bernice Davis:

"We should have stayed out of Iraq until we knew more about it," Bernice Davis, a Republican from Lamar, Mo., who said she now disapproved of Mr. Bush's performance, said... "The economy is going to pot. Gas prices are escalating. I just voted for Bush because he's a Republican, even though I disapproved of the war. If I could go back, I would not vote for him."

Ms. Davis: People like you are exactly what's wrong with this country. Thanks a lot. P.S. You stink.

I just voted for Bush because he's a Republican, even though I disapproved of the war.

This just slays me. Most of what has been horribly wrong in his second term was ALREADY GOING ON IN HIS FIRST TERM, but fear and apathy and get-out-the-stupid (not to mention voter fraud) carried the day. No one bothered to listen, or look, or do any research on the candidates.

Even my mother, die-hard Republican, loathes Bush now. But if you ask her why she voted for him, I think she still thinks he was better than Kerry.

the ex, who to this day cannot find anything positive to say about Clinton, finally admitted that he couldn't vote for Bush the second time around.

He didn't vote for anyone else, tho, so it's not as though he helped matters...

My mom considers herself a conservative, but she didn't vote for Bush the first time because she saw him on Oprah and thought he was shifty. True story. (She didn't vote for him the second time either. ;)

Wordwordword. Worse than that is the standard: "I voted for Bush because he's a Christian!" Blow me.

I saw on Yahoo today that W is pimping Jeb for 2008. Not surprising, but pretty damn nervy, considering the approval numbers we're seeing.

I mean, gag me.

LostROCKED tonight. Too bad about Libby - I liked her a LOT more than I liked Ana Lucia. And, don't you get the feeling that there was more to tell about her and Hurley and the mental institution. My wife and I were discussing that and she said what a bunch of folks here have said - "I guess the rest of the cast knows not to drink and drive now!" Loved the new hatch, can't wait to see what happens with Locke now.

And, SO GLAD to see MoJo gone from TAR! I loved Yolanda and her bug eating reversal: "I'm from the South, we eat anything fried!"...7 seconds later..."Nunh-unh, I don't think I can eat that."

Don't worry, I'm sure Libby's not dead. C'mon, they just had a story about a girl who was thought dead and came back to life, it would be in true Lost form for a similar event to happen on the island.

I was going to post about that same thing, about Brad. 'Cause it's like, okay, every day you go to Google News and you google for the West Wing and they're ALL ABOUT BRAD. So much so that I'm wondering how many other ways to say he likes that Josh finally got laid there are left in his brain.

Well it couldn't possibly be worse.

As for Ms. Davis, as a Democrat hoping to win midterms, we don't want to mock people like her, we want to enlist them. She's pulled her head out of her ass, lets give her credit for that and get her on board and voting Democrat.

I KNOW, RIGHT? Locke and Eko are totally my Lost OTP. They are very sympatico, with their life-done-me-wrong-but-I-choose-to-be-a-man-of-faith-ness. It's just the most fascinating relationship on the show. And I love that when Locke's faith waivered, Eko was the one to bring him back. Sniff!

Totally with you on the OMGRELIEF of MoJo being gone from TAR. That was the only thing that consoled me after the American Idol Elimination of Death.

Ms. Davis' quote=same quote that set me off at the office. people started to look at me funny because I went so red in the face b/c of the anger.

and my love for Brad continues. Someone else at the office saw the Bill Maher ep from Friday and we laughed over the butt plug quote. love, love, love.

Hey girl, did you see Bradley Whitford on The Today Show this morning? He was adorable and very articulate (when Matt and Katie would let him get a word in, that is). But he kept pushing his jacket back in a way that made him look fat, which just puzzled me.

Anyway, it was schuweet!

Makes me wonder if NBC finally got fed up with paying through the nose to keep their 'stars' around for just a little bit longer- a la Helen Hunt, Paul Reiser, the cast of Friends, etc- and TWW retospective is the straw that broke the camel's back. It's a shame, because it's one of the few things that *would* have been worth the money. *cough*thelastseasonofMadAboutYou*cough*
